Hello,
You've no doubt ventured in here for two obvious reasons... The first and most obvious is simple... plain curiosity. I can't blame you for it, nor would I. The second and less common one is you are genuinely interested in Clash of Empires (COE). Needless to say, whatever your reasons, I have created this thread as a simple FAQ and general Q&A thread.
What is COE?
COE is short for Clash of Empires. Its a total conversion modification for the RTS game Star Trek Armada II.
What makes COE different to other Modifications?
Honestly, not much really. It includes many popular third-party modifications like Thunderfoot's Physics project, Fahres Project Blue and Orange, FleetOps Patch Project etc.
Oh and it includes new and old races, such as the Dominion, Cardassians, Sona, Breen etc.
What races are on the books?
Well honestly I have the following set in stone:
Any additional races?
A few, nothing confirmed as of yet:
These are all in consideration and realistic they probably won't make the cut. I am focusing on the first 8 confirmed races as of now.
When will it be released?
Well I am releasing it in stages, starting with the Cardassians. Each release will have two parts, each part will have one race. The scheduled releases is as follows:
Release One, The Klingon-Cardassian War
Release Two, The Dominion War
Release Three, The Turn of the Tide
Release Four, The Aftermath
However there is no scheduled dates, I am only human and do have a life and family and my own priorities and problems to deal with. So it will be out when out, just support the project and you'll end up getting your hands on it sooner rather than later.
There are various new features I plan to incorporate into COE, but I am keeping them to myself until I can find out whether they will be successful. Also anything I release in this project can be used in other projects as long as they aren't hosted elsewhere. I don't like my hard work hosted on other sites where I have no control over it.
If you have any further questions, feel free to post in this thread.
