• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

What if FC had been a TNG/DS9 Crossover?

So this was an idea proposed in the comments section of a youtube video, and probably not meant to be anything more than an attention-grabbing comment, but now that I'm thinking about it, it's an intriguing idea. There's a few different things to consider about how this would work out, with the first being who from the DS9 cast would be on the Defiant when it goes to earth? Worf and O'Brien would be obvious to tie the two casts together, Dax and Bashir would likely be along for the ride anyway. There's no reason for Quark or Jake to come along, though Garak might be an interesting possibility. Odo would probably be required to stay at DS9 (god forbid the Borg figure out how to assimilate a founder). The real question is whether Sisko or Kira, or both, would also come along. Probably both. As far as who stays to help Cochrane vs battles the Borg on the Enterprise, I think Bashir would likely have gone to Earth, and both Dax and O'Brien could have gone either way, but I'm leaning toward going to Earth for both, with Dax explaining her spots away as a tattoo. That would leave Sisko, Kira, and maybe Garak on board to battle the Borg with Worf, Crusher, Data, Picard, and Lily. The dynamic between Picard and Lily would have been much more complex when adding Kira and Sisko to the mix. Overall, though, I don't think it would have been a good move, but it's an interesting idea to say the least.

I'd expand the DS9 crew's role to the 2373 scenes only. Maybe leading the defense of Earth in their scenes. They can hand-off the focus to the TNG cast when they go back in time.

But man, Sisko leading the Sector 001 fight would have been real closure to his Wolf 359 experience.

I recall reading some of the TNG producers wanted the Defiant destroyed but the DS9 team was like "get the F out of here" lol

I think it would have not been a good idea.

To have that number of cast in one movie , would have overloaded the film and not given time to use each to their best performance . Doing so would have just given them a snippet rolls like the doctor cameo in sick bay. In short would have been truly detrimental to the story .and would have been fanservice for for the sake of fanservice , which is never good .

Personally having Worf, O'Brien and possibly Dax would've been enough and something that would've been cool. Anymore Ds9 characters and as Hellkite says would've been too much.

It's a shame after Nemesis flopped they didn't try something like this with the TNG, Ds9 and VOY crews a little like the Destiny Book series.
