Well many have asked this question, it has been posted in many threads in this section more than once. But I have decided to make an information thread for this topic as I think it is the most asked question in recent months.
What does private mean?
As stated in the Online Dictionary, private means belonging to some particular person, not open or accessible to the general public, removed from or out of public view and so on.
So in simple terms Yesteryears can't just be downloaded by anyone. When Yesteryears is ready for release a special usergroup will be created and members who will be able download YY will be added to it.
Why is Yesteryears now private, what happened?
A long and touchy issue this question and answer is. Put simply, the non-stock importer was released on A2Files. The man behind it decided to take the whole decision upon himself with clear disregard to the wants and needs of the entire community. Many were for the importer and an equal number were against it.
At the beginning we made a decision that if it became public, the mods (Yesteryears and Parallels) would be publically cancelled. Despite this he released it on the forums and after it was removed he put it in his signature.
So I went ahead and cancelled the mod publically, as I believe many in the community no longer respects an artists rights, in this case a modeller. The decision was the right one and was very clearly reinforced after the vocal attacks against the decision and myself as a person were made by various members on A2Files.
Due to that those members have been put on the blacklist and will not be able to get Yesteryears, regardless of how they behave from now onwards. So if you are one of those members and you know who you are, well I am sorry but you made your decision back in August.
Will I be able to download Yesteryears?
There are many people Syf and I have also decided will have the mod, others could get themselves on the list. I think Rodglas best said it in the Yesteryears Publicly Cancelled thread.
As Rod pointed out, we need to know you, know we can trust you. Best way and really the only way to do that is become active on Majestic Sci-Fi Central and not just the Yesteryears section the site has way more than just that.
Can I give Yesteryears to a friend after I download it?
Absolutely not. If we (and we most likely will) discover you have done so, an immediate ban from this site you will recieve. It will also be made publically here what you have done and any bug fixes, patches or addon packs will not be available to you.
Also if you try and submit any part of the YY mod to another site and we see it, we be will contacting the respective Admins of those sites and demanding that the files be taken down and due action be taken against the file submitter.
We may also go as far as looking into legal avenues as we do not hold the copyright to Star Trek, but the models are the property of the 2A-A2 team. We are very strongly committed that we can control our work and it be respected, so it would be best for you not to violate our trust.
When will Yesteryears be released?
You should know better than ask a release date. Now that Yesteryears is private, Syf and I have slowed up on production to allow us more time to do other things we need to do. We are still working on the mod, but we both almost burnt ourselves out last time so are taking it slower.
To answer the question, it will be out when we finish it.

Build yourself a reputation with Majestic and the YY team and they will respond accordingly.
If you show yourself trustworty then I suspect you will get a copy. In other words post more.
