• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I haven't played much of it. I think it was a good concept (story wise) but in typical pre-PWE Cryptic fashion poorly executed.

My main reasoning:
Tier 6 - Has made pretty much all previous ship purchases obsolete. What more one needs to pay more money to increase them to T5U, adding more insult to injury.
Mission Cap - Everyone started to Lvl 50 and yet after a half dozen missions you hit the level cap requiring grinding elsewhere to continue to play. I for one can't be bother playing content I have played for years just so I can continue the story.
Things asked for again ignored - KDF science ships, KDF uniforms, Romulan science ships, more unique faction missions especially for the Klingon and Romulan factions, species re-trait token, class/specialty re-class token etc Things asked for for years and still they haven't done this.

To be honest I have lost motivation and desire to play the game a long time ago. I have since only returned for one weekend and then haven't been back since. STO while a game with a lot of promise constantly falls short. They desired a 3 faction game yet are unprepared to bring these factions into the unique standing they deserve. Missions are still very Federation like in their feel and dialogue, rather than making unique missions for each or at least unique dialogue/objectives for the same mission requiring only one set of art assets/map.

I just feel as Cryptic/PWE are unprepared to put in that extra bit of effort, while they do some good work I think the attitude of the people in charge is wrong. They could also make the store more affordable, $20 for a ship is a little outrageous when it's only a virtual thing not to mention most are now obsolete and requiring more over-price purchases aka tokens to upgrade them. Personally I feel $5 or even $10 for a ship is more than fair.

^ what 'e said.
I honestly don't understand the reasoning behind tier 6. It doesn't solve the problem of end game, it just kicks it down the road a bit. To make matters worse, we can't trust Cryptic about the tier 6 ships. They invented the T5U in acknowledgement that people had invested in "end game" content... and then they made a T6 version of the Intrepid despite saying that they wouldn't. My no brainer decision to upgrade my Defiant is now not so easy...
I've not yet played the missions as I've been grinding for dilithium... which itself is another gripe. Everything costs so much dilithium, its ridiculous!

I have probably only completed only half of the Delta Rising content. The stories I have experienced are quite good. I just hate that I have to take a break in the progression of the story to grind enough experience to be able to continue. I do quite well in my T5U ships (all of which were of the free upgrade variety) so I would not consider them obsolete.....yet. I do not do any queued event above normal as I am not yet geared for them. Even the advanced were supposed to be what the old elite were but, that is not true, they are harder. Of course, I am the type of player that just takes my time and enjoy what I do. I can care less what the other players think of my build/skill and even less about what the devs think I should be doing. I play the game as I see fit. I am the definition of a casual player.

they changed a good game to the worst, again and the equipment upgrades are to expensive and promise more than you get from them.

I am of a similar opinion. To be honest I only play it for the new missions nowadays and don't do any tech acquiring nor grind. It's just too much for a game, it's like a second job just to do it for a single character. I have too many more important things to do these days.

I really need to organise a time to get on with a couple of friends just to play missions.
