A very sad but well executed story.
Having seen her as Daffyd's lesbian friend in Little Britain it is good to see Ruth Jones in a serious role especially how her character Ruth finally learnt what happened to her son Jonah.
Also good of showing Gwen's feelings of what she has to go through with her job.
Jonah having spend a lot of time in the Rift even though not a lot of time had passed relatively in 'our' world was something that was done in the Buffyverse most notably that of Connor in Angel.
This episode presents very well the harsh realities of Torchwood, happy endings are never a guarantee.
