• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Just got back from the film. Didn't see the 3D version. All I can say is - WOW! Everything a summer block buster is supposed to be and a lot more. I really enjoyed Iron Man but this one is much better. Didn't realize Kenneth Branaugh directed the film until the credits rolled. Should have guessed because of the great attention to getting the details right. In style, the film matches the comic very very well. Thor was one of the few comics I collected as a boy. Yes, it has indeed been around that long, lol. It was so very different from the usual run of the mill costumed crime fighter vs. costumed super villain stories. Marvel made a serious effort to keep Thor as different as possible. This began with the language. I think I liked the way the characters spoke best of all.

LOL I just saw it too a couple hours ago.:lol2:

To be completely, I liked Iron man better, but Thor was way better than Iron Man 2.(and Thor never really was my thing. I am a robot guy so Iron man had more appeal;)) I also saw it in 3D and think it would have been better if I had seen it in regular def. It was definitly more like a comic than Iron Man, which was going for a reality feel. I liked that it was a good clean movie too and I think it barely deserved a PG-13 rating.:)

I definitely recommend seeing it, but not in 3D.

Majestic and I saw Thor in 3D a few days ago and loved it, its very hard to see it in non-3d here as they are not giving us the option in this area but we enjoyed it in 3D regardless, Chris Hemsworth did a brilliant job as Thor and in our opinion he did a better job than his role as George Kirk in Star Trek XI, though he did a good job there as well I just think he suits Thor more

Ooh, good catch. I knew I liked him for another reason other than him being Australian. :lol2:

Majestic didn't realise who it was until I pointed it out after the movie, took me a little bit to figure out, I kept thinking Star Trek and saying to myself *no thats Chris Pine who is in that* then thought of George and was like *oh yeah thats right!* haha, after the movie too we stayed until after the credits but everyone else left before the credits were over and missed the little bit at the end that Marvel is so good for popping in ;-)

George Kirk and Padme Amidala together in the same film. On the same side. Poor Bad Guys never even had a ghost of a chance, did they?

I really want to see this movie, but with my end of year exams I really can't afford to lose hours sitting in the cinema lol. I'll make a point of going to see it once my summer holiday starts :)

I am debating as to whether or not to see it a second time and it isn't hard to figure out which way I'm deciding. Dan, I wouldn't worry about missing this one because it will run in theatres for a good long time.

Yeah, I will probably see it a second time on a Military base theater in a month or so. Tickets there cost about $2 and the food is alot cheaper too.

Yeah, I lol'd at the smileys when I posted here for the first time...

Don't know if I'll go see the movie. I mean, yeah, I love a good movie, but I haven't been to a cinema in... what is it, ten years? I'll probably wait for the DVD.

I've been wondering about that for years. I've identified b5 :) and sg-1 :worship: and bsg :naughty: but the other ones are a mystery to me. Maybe Maj can help?
