• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I've started watching DS9 again, and a few things sprung to mind:

The prophets, an omnipotent being much like the Q, they seem to have unlimited power, and the ability to manipulate the universe to their own will, much like the Q.

Do we know anything abut their relationship?

Are the prophets the Q? A splinter group? Were they a group of Q exiled (into the Wormhole) if so how were they able to manipulate the universe outside?

And the Pah-Wraith to me were pretty clear they are the Anti-Prophets, but where do they fit in with my above hypothesis?

Anyone know? Or anyone want to put forth their own idea?

Perhaps they are Just different Races that Evolved along a similar evolutionary path.

Well maybe they could have been a splintered par of the Q that decided that they would lead poeple spiritualy. obvioulsy the Pah wraiths are those that have other ideas lol. but then again as Jason said they couild be completetly different. I mean there is no reason there cannot be more than one super being. besides they are diferent in nature as the Prophets/Pah wraiths posses (from what ive seen) poeple whereas the q have there own material (i use that loosly) form(s).

the only time we see the Q they appear to the crew as something they can comprehend, and thusly thats how they show us the Q continuum. the profits show themselves to the person/people as people they know in a place they know, thusly helping the whole comprehension thing.

so possible ties?

Its never really hit me before, and i guess theres nothing stopping them from both evolving at the same time.

From everything I have seen. The Q and the Profits, while very similair, are different species all together. The Q run around the entire universe. While the Profits only affect things that concern 1 major planet. Now as far as the Pah-Wraith. If I remember correctly. They were once Profits as well. But we cast out of the celestial temple (wormhole). So, to me they reflect very much the similairities of Angels and Demons. For demons were once angels, just cast out for failing to overthrown the power that be. So, I think that is the same light (pardon the pun) that the Profits and Pah-Wraith are to be looked at in. Make any sense?

Q are beings of godlike nature, just running around doing whatever they want, not knowing or caring about the effects.
The prophets and par wraiths are probably evolved being who achieved godhood, they seem to care about the effects of the mortal realm
