There are rumours that Downey Jr will be making a guest appearance in it, as Ironman...

No, this is a complete reboot of Hulk, intended to give a "let's pretend that last one never happened" feel to the Ang Lee-directed Hulk, according to everything I've read on the subject. It has as much in common with the previous Hulk film as Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne does with George Clooney's. :D

lets hope thats reflected in the movie then... part of the trailer does make it look like a sequel after all (the army mans bit about Banner being US property as far as he's concerned, and the overall air of the trailer makes it feel like a sequel).

Guess we shall see how it plays out. i'm still wavering about whether to see it or not

The 1970s Incredible Hulk TV series starred Bill Bixby as Dr David Banner. An episode I recently watched was called My Favourite Magician and guest starred Ray Walston.

The title of the episode was an allusion to My Favourite Martian in which Walston played the eponymous Martian and it co-starred Bixby as Tim O'Hara. So The Incredible Hulk episode was a reunion for Bixby and Walston.

As well as My Favourite Martian, the Incredible Hulk episode could also allude to the 1973 series The Magician which also starred Bixby.

Granted the first Hulk wasn't extremely well but it kept my kids intertained. I will be seeing the newest one. Just to say I did and so my kids can watch it too. They can't wait for it to come out. Only part I really liked about the first one was the dog attack.

Ben McEachen in the Sunday Telegraphy gave The Incredible Hulk, 3 and a half stars. He found it better than the Hulk's previous big screen outing directed by Ang Lee in 2003. I agree as I saw the film yesterday.

The new movie featured surprising cameos.

I was surprised that the movie had a cameo from Bill Bixby (David Banner in the 1970s TV series). Bixby who died in 1993 appeared in the film as a result of a clip from his TV show The Courtship of Eddie's Father which was briefly shown on television that Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) was watching.

Also making a cameo was Lou Ferrigno, the Hulk in the TV series. He briefly appears as the security guard that Bruce Banner meets. Banner says that the security guard is the man! Ferrigno also provides the voice of the Hulk in the movie in contrast to the fact that the Hulk was mute in the TV series apart from him roaring.

The theme of the TV series was briefly played during the film.

Unfortunately there was nothing of the late Jack Colvin (Jack McGee) included in the film. However the Jack McGee character did appear in the film as a campus student reporter.

To Australian viewers:
In this week's At The Movies Margaret and David were not very impressed by The Incredible Hulk with Margaret giving it 2 and a half stars and David three stars.
