Well heading back to the topic, Kevaas is my KDF space tactical, a Alien or more correctly a Cardassian. Katala and I for over a month saved every penny we had and now he has finally been allowed to fly a ship that he is more accustomed to.

To the rebirth of the Cardassian Union. :lol2:

Hi, long time not here and i started to play STO one month before it became free to play. I have one Fed character on Lvl.50, he is engineer and got the free version of the Odyssey cruiser for him as main ship, with all weapons MK XII anti-borg. The ships name is U.S.S. INANNA.
STOI-1.jpgSTOI-2.jpgSTOI-3.jpgSTOI-4.jpg
recently i got the pack with all three of the Odyssey class cruiser versions, but the Inanna will remain my main ship for this character.

The other character i have is a Fed Science Commander and is a girl, for her i got that constitution class upgrade version with the ionized gass seeking torpedo special, its named U.S.S. VELAR.

Nice pics, Terradhyne. I am a little jealous because the minute I saw the Connie Upgrade, I wanted it, lol. It is the prettiest Fed ship by far. Ah well, saving my nickels and dimes for a dream.

Please add me as a friend, I would be deeply honored. Crell@thunderfoot1007

I got it as well. She is a fine ship and the anticloak torpedo console is pretty cool too. I wish they allowed you to refit your current ship instead of getting a new one so you could keep them all the way to VA.

I brought something back from timetravel, its the U.S.S. PROCYON NCC-91756
STOFProc1.jpgSTOFProc2.jpgSTOFProc3.jpgSTOFProc4.jpg

I started a Klingon character today and must say the STO makers lag much in creativity, those Klingon ships are much more uninspired kitbashes than some of those Feds :(

Niiice! Have to agree with you, Terradhyne. With all of the quality meshes and ideas out there which are available, why'd the modelers for STO insist on starting from scratch with the Klingon ships? I know the game is still very much Starfleet centered and I appreciate how much work it takes just to keep one of these working correctly. But surely they could ask people who've done it better for longer and then convert the files over to the correct format.

Their new starbases look nice, so I don't think it's lack of talent. It could simply be that no one wants to work on the things. If there was a dev that used his/her spare time to make a few new models then I doubt the company would start complaining. It's work for free really.

It's been ages since I last logged in. Apologies if anyone has sent me any messages or anything, I haven't been there to get them .

Actually it's due to legal issues that they can't use others original models or designs. People like Atolm and Raven-Night have offered in the past, and these guts are like the masters of original awesome looking Trek designs.

I have acquired the Blockade Runner Escort (Steamrunner). I have not yet had a chance to test her in combat but the model looks pretty good. I took some screenies with the different sets (that I have) on it.

Nice work SFF, still disappointed it wasn't available in the c-store, but STO or more so Crypic are disappointing.

Hope you have fun with it.

I look at it this way. It was a good deal and the money did not go to Cryptic or PWE. It went to Steam. As for the disappointment in the game, I am a little disappointed too. I still have some fun with the game but, there are a lot that could be better. I have a suspicion that a lot of the unfavorable changes were brought on by PWE rather than Cryptic Studios. I say this as I was there before the buyout. They wanted to do a lot but Atari wouldn't let them. Right after the buyout, things started to improve drastically as PWE infused money and equipment. Then they started putting their own stamp on the game with things like the lockboxes. Things started going down from there. I am still hopeful that things will still turn around for the KDF. I don't think I will stop playing due to that I am locked in till shutdown with the LTS. I am however not giving any money to them via Zen purchase so, If things start improving for all players, I may start spending.

Can someone remind me how to grab screenshots. :D

Hit PRTSCN (Print Screen) and then go into your STO directory and the screenshots folder. Still images are saved as PNG and moving images such as warp out images are saved as Targa's.

Well, I've been flying the Thrace pretty hard, as a Captain level escort she's done very well at Level 50. But as I had a whole stack of dilithium to use up (and I still dislike my Sovereign) I decided to splash out on a new escort. So, the USS Formidable.

screenshot_2012-11-22-17-59-34.jpgscreenshot_2012-11-22-17-59-45.jpgscreenshot_2012-11-22-18-00-07.jpgscreenshot_2012-11-22-18-30-59.jpgscreenshot_2012-11-22-18-58-27.jpg

As you can see, she's an Advanced Escort, combination of Cerberus and Prometheus to get a sleek look. Stacks a whole bunch of SIFs and Emitter Arrays and the toughest Covariant shields I can find (a combination which served me well with the Thrace, although I am tempted to switch to Paratrinic). I must say, I felt sure I was going to be disappointed after handling a Defiant for so long, but the Formidable seems to meet the challenge, especially with an extra array on the tail.

Spent far too much time playing with my shiny new ship today
Managed to get into a few positions that I thought may make for some nice pictures... and I was right on a couple of counts (I sense a new desktop coming).

Nice ship, I found the race too hard and frustrating to bother getting one.

Just trying out my latest catch - the USS Renown.
The Ambassador class seems a nice mix of ship, I'm tempted to make this my new main ship.

It's a shame the 3rd anniversary ships are only tier 4. Makes them more a downgrade than a upgrade for most players. I am only getting them as the collectors item. Still need to get a few of my KDF characters through this. Might do it today to get it done.

Actually, the Ambassador is a tier 5. RA minimum rank to use the Retrofit. It is esentually the same as the Excelsior Retrofit (The console loadout is the exact same as the Excelsior but the BOff seating switched a Ltc Tac with a Ltc Sci).

I just wished they used the Zhukov parts for the T5 Ambassador. I hope they add it in later like they did with the Generations (Enterprise B) Excelsior. I also hope the can and will use Proberts concept design.
