• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

Just saw the first episode of the animated series Stargate Infinity entitled Decision due to someone uploading the episode in four parts on YouTube.

Apart from the Stargate itself, this does not look anything like the live action Stargate shows and it takes place in the future.

At first I thought that this does not look bad until the Alien ripoff came along. Now there is not necessarily anything wrong with a ripoff but the way it was done in this episode was hardly impressive.

Another flaw with Decision is that of a plausibility problem. The hostile aliens that appeared in this episode seem to only stun not kill anybody who is in their way. Now I am aware that the cartoon was aimed for kids but hostile aliens are more likely to kill not knock people off.

Not a good start to the series.

It is hard for a toon to live up to the Live action version, more so when the Live Action came first.

But as you pointed out TS, it is targeted at kids. Usually, kids around the age 7 like shows like this. So, you wouldn't expect to see a very complex story plot or killing characters for that age group.

I myself have 4 kids, currently between the ages 1 to 12. As a responsible parent, don't like my kids watching overly violent shows. So I'm glad to hear that the producers of the animated Stargate take the "killing" issue seriously.

I doubt I will ever watch it, even when I was a kid around the age of 10-13 the only cartoon I watched was the old Dragonball Z series, the others just didn't hold my interest, except the Ninja Turtles and the Smurfs back when I was really young. Oh that brings back memories.

But yes obviously it's target at young kids, something us as a group no doubt will watch much of.
