• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

This kidna fits in 2 areas, pc games and the star wars section.

Lucasarts and BioWare have got together once again, but this time, they are creating an MMO!

Set 300 years after KOTOR 2 and 3600 years before the rise of Vader, During the Sith War.

The real Sith Empire has returned and the republic is losing the war, a tenuous peace has been struck, while the sith occupy most of the galaxy, the republic are doing what they can to prepare for the inevitable return to war. The peace is holding, however, border skirmishes are taking plae throughout the galaxy, and you must chose how you wish to fight for you chosen side.

At the moment 5/8 classes have been releaed (afaik)

Light Side
Jedi,
Trooper,

Darkside
Sith
Bounty Hunter,

Cant Rememer,
Smuggler

Each split between the light side and the dark side, each having their own campaign, equal to the storyline of KOTOR and KOTOR 2, with the dynamics of an RPG, in that your actions shape the world u play through.

The game itself apparently has more Content than any other BioWare game made, put together (And this is coming from BioWares co founder, and CEO, so its probably close tobeing true)

I is also completley voiced over, to increase with the players emertion into the univserse.

Ive only read reviews and seen videos on you tube (some of which will be posted below) but i cant help but be insanley excited about this game!

PC gamer (PC Gaming magazine i read) are billing this game as the wow killer, and i appreciate this is ot the first time a game has been released that has been unable to deliver, but this game is in its self a new breed.

The down point, it has a monthly subscription fee. but, i pay one now, so im willing to pay one then as well.

Anyway, from what i have been able to find the game is due for release September this year!

I wonder what other people think?

I'm definitely looking forward to TOR, but as you said, it's a monthly subscription, and between this, Star Trek Online, and Stargate Worlds I might only be playing two of the three...

But so far the trailers and and screenshots etc... all point to a fun and inviting Star Wars game, I certainly expect it to be better than SWG...

I'll most likely get the trial, but I don't really want to be paying two subscriptions for two online games...

Well, three with Trek Online....

first off, im more of a stargate fan than i am anything else, and also more of a star trek fan than i am star wars.

but, im looking forward to this game more than STO or SGW.

SW is a much more open universe, there are thousends upon thousends of years to basically live through (for want of a better word)

where as Star trek and SG are quite closed, in that theres no way to go back (They are both based around earth, SG cant go back at all, and STO can only a little bit before they start hitting current events) and this to me increases the chances of just messing up the over all story of the series as well as the game, obviously this wont stop me trying, im even hoping to hear about a SGW beta slot.

SW is still unique and like i said, they have free reign over history as well as future, which wont greatly impact teh established canon.

Ofcourse story isnt everything, but tbh i havent heard anythign special about the game play in STO or SW :/
