I have been re watching the Babylon 5 Series and have noticed that the Vorlon Ships' look almost exactly like Species 8472's Ships In Armada.

I guess this means that The Vorlons and 8472 are the Same Race than and Fluidict Space must be The B5 Universe.

Nope, I just guess the creators of Voyager used the Vorlon designs from B5 as inspiration.

Its pretty common knowledge the DS9 creators were in competition with B5 during both shows air days. A reason why DS9 jumps around so much, to try and keep up with B5, I guess.

Hmm, I think they look nothing alike, aside from that they are yellow and organic... Not much to go by.

Agreed. Species 8472 looks a lot different from Vorlons.

Hello:
Before modding and modelling BSG ships, Ispent a great deal of time with Species8472 ships, even creating new "factions".
But what I did notice, is that the stock 8472 Cruiser is a Voth ship from Voyager but re-coloured :D . Intriguing, that's why I added 8472-style wings to my version of the Cruiser .

I think that the idea of a biologic (or organic) ship is something quite old in scifi.
Interestingly, species using such bio-ships are almost every time depicted as very advanced... maybe they have to to grow such bioships or to operate them..

However: I must say, that the B5 depiction of such a bioship is far more of my taste than the Trek one.

Oh, another biological ship: the Cylon Raider from the new BSG. Watch "You can't go home again" ;)

to be honest. i wouldn't be surprised if 8472 were created because of the Vorlons.

Paramount wasn't exactly original when it came to the Later Era Trek shows such as DS9 and Voyager. DS9 was made with the Babylon 5 production Bible after all.

After what I've heard, so was DS9 in it's third year then Paramount got the visit by JMS with the B5 bible.

But enough of this part, we almost had a flamewar before thanks to someone saying DS9 was a copy of B5. So get back to topic instead and talk about bioships.

Hello:
You are most correct Borg_Queen.
Biological ships are very interesting type of ships, because the sole way to try to make a living creature that can withstand the vacuum of space would requeire a good degree of technology and knowledge.
Cylon Raiders and Baseships are bio-mechanical ships. That gave me a very nice surprise and that made me like those designs even more.
I would love to get more canon info about Species 8472. Maybe someday we will have some luck.
