We're now at $424,170! And they're trying to recruit Seth McFarlane (of Family Guy) as a Starfleet captain and Neil Degrasse Tyson as the Federation President.

Would be interesting if they actually pulled it off. Garrett Wang was just cast as a Klingon D7 captain as well.

I know right? Over on their old - now defunct - message board, I'd mentioned the idea of recruiting modders to insert Axanar's ships into the various Trek games to spread the word. No one seemed to like the idea unfortunately. But if done right - like the gang here is doing - it could not only spread the word about their Kickstarter, but also breathe new life into the various Trek gaming communities.

SFC3 finally has a new mod out - Typhon Pact - which is pretty dang good but no one knows about it since most of the old sites are defunct. SFC3Files - the stomping grounds of my adolescence - is just as much of a ghost town as the rest of Filefront...

Sorry...stepping off the soapbox...

In other Axanar news, it unfortunately appears that Michael Hogan had to withdraw from the project. So now they're recruiting for a new Captain Robert April. Sounds like they want to talk to Paul McGann. Methinks that would be fantastic.

Paul McGann would be fantastic, he made a good Doctor even if he got very little screen time. I would love to see more of him, and this project might be a good opportunity for him to get more screen time in a sci-fi setting.

Indeed! Love McGann, he was also terrific in the Horatio Hornblower television movies as well.

Hopefully they'll be able to get him. They were talking about trying to grab a few other higher-profile actors for spots as well.

I want you to design the cover for the PRELUDE TO AXANAR DVD and BLU-RAY! But here's the thing...I DO NOT WANT your typical photoshopped movie key art...no...I want something more along the lines of a Criterion Collection cover...something like THESE:

Now...there's no money involved. And Axanar Productions will own your work. But you'll have bragging rights with your friends and family for years to come! Additionally, you'll receive 5 copies of either the DVD or the Blu-Ray, whichever you prefer.

Rob's a pretty tremendous talent, he did the Star Trek: TNG blurays and Special Features, and now he's doing the Prelude to Axanar Bluray. Pretty awesome stuff.
