• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I just thought I would take a minute to point people to a great little tool for Internet Explorer, a spell checker. It's just like the one found in MS-Office products. It's called ieSpell. It works with current versions of IE and has a 90% or better spell correction accuracy. I've been using it for about 1.5 years now, and it works great (when I actually use it  ). And yes, you can add words to it just like the office checker. However, please note, this is no grammar checker!

It will save you some post edits, and us admins/moderators from having to edit posts so much. So if you don't have it installed to your Internet Explorer, I would like to encourage you to get it.

I too use it for my IE, since my Firefox won't allow me to download without crashing. :cry2:

For some reason the spellchecker isn't working... I press the button for it, but nothing happens... I even wrote on purpose a spelling error to test if it was still working, but not even then did anything happen...

After installing it, did you restart your IE? If so, then you may want to check your IE settings. Maybe there isa something blocking it from working.

Yes, I restarted my IE, and it did work for a while. I've checked my settings now, but nothing has changed, even if I tried to check/uncheck some settings...

Yep, Firefox. To me it's the best, but that's just my opinion. Seems to work well particularly with new pages such as XHTML.

For all of those who can't seem to get this working, stay tunned. In roughly a month give a week or two, I plan on installing a vBulletin spell checker which will allow anyone posting to check their spelling via the site, no matter what browser you are using.
