• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I'm just over level 40 and have I think around 70 Year of Hell lock boxes. If I convert all of my dilithium to Zen, I think I can buy one key. I'm not really interested in spending tons of real money just to open these things. Is there some way to get something for them?

You could always sell them on the exchange. Do a search for the lock box type to find the going rate then put them up for a few credits less. The going rate varies with age, rarity and value of the potential content, but they're usually somewhere between 25 and 300 EC. If you sell for slightly less than the going rate, they usually shift reasonably quickly.

Store them in your bank. Wait 6 months and make some money off them. It's what I do. During a lock box run they aren't really worth a lot.

I've learnt my lesson and I don't bother opening them, it's usually just junk.

IF you want to open one or two, you can also buy keys off of the exchange. Last I checked, the keys were around 2.5 mil ea. That was a while ago though so I am certain the price has shifted some. I am not advocating opening the boxes, just presenting options.
