Yeah, I decided to go classic with some minor changes.

I am actually thinking of doing two sets of textures but I am not 100% certain I will.

A while back ago I did (but did not release) a (really pre) TOS kelvin. I have been tinkering with a little kitbashing with it and here are three ships that I have now.

TOS.jpg

These ships are meant to be just before the TOS era. 2210s. I am gonna work on the textures before release though. I want the Columbia (NX refit) and Intrepid to have their own textures. Also, the Intrepid will be reclassified prior to release.

That is a great start.

That's pretty much on par with my skills and work. What size do you create your textures at? I start with 1024x1024 and then afterwards resize if necessary. Thought I do normally keep them at 1024x1024 and these days I have been able to get everything on the one texture file as well rather than needing to do multiple texture files.

Is this a Constitution refit that you're texturing?

I have been working in 1024. I have realized that for most of my detailed areas I can do at a high setting and then size it down. I may size these textures down. Yes it is a Constitution Refit but it is just the saucer so that I may use it to do other models as well.

Well done! You keep getting better man!

Thanxs! As soon as I get to where I am happy with my textures, I will get more of my models completed.

I have gotten to a point myself where I just use textures at 1024x1024. I don't worry about sizing them down as I think it would cause less processing for the game to access one 1024 texture rather than several 512 ones.

Plus you do loose a bit of quality when you re-size them down unlike if you re-size a 2048 down to a 1024.

Well what started out as a texture test work has now bloomed into a full blown project. I added the neck for the Constitution and the little dome that is associated with the impulse engines.

Yeah that happened to me on a BSG model, a test turning into a full final texture.

It's looking great so far. Nice attention to detail with the neck.

I have the impulse engines done and I have the saucer bottom all but done ( gotta add the little windows, lights, and dome). I must say, I think this is by far THE best work I have done thus far.

Hello:
It looks like you are doing a very detailed model there. It looks very good and no texture distortions or problems.

Very cool.

As I was working on my TMP Constitution, I had an idea. I started fiddling with said idea and here is what I have come up with.

TMPMiner.jpg

The upper pylons will be where the nacelles goes and the lower ones will be for the Fuel Storage (latinum and dilithium for the games sake) pods will go.

This design is inspired by the Kobayashi Maru from STXI.

Is that a sort of STXI Hood in TMP Style or a revised cargo ship or something?

It is losely based off of the Kobayashi Maru model they used in STXI. At the lower pylons there will be pontoon style holding tanks.

Here is a new update on my Connie. It is currently sitting at 2100 poly. I still have work to do on it more and I may try to reduce her a little.

Thank you both. As for the engines, I think it is the angle of the view. I am thinkning of redoing them though as I am not entirely happy with them.

I think it looks great - as for the engines, I don't think a complete do over is needed... From what I can see, from the back of the pylon is the trouble area... forward of the pylon is a-ok!
