I wanted more than a plain hull (a la TOS). This model is based off of Ricky "Madman1707" Wallace, who used info from EAS for the Alternate Reality. I am trying to stay as close to his model as possible. I also plan on doing a Romulan skin for her. I also want to come up with a Romulan and Klingon BoP. Then I'll release it as a pack.......maybe.

The red colors particularly contrast well with the rest of the ship, I really like the results! ^_^

Another Update!!

I added some more detail to the hull and added a little easter egg. Who can find it first?

D7Progress-1.jpg

And Yes, I know there is a hole at the back of the nacelle. It will be fixed. :p

Easter Egg huh? Kewl!

Is it a cleverly placed logo on the wing roots?

The question is, can anyone properly identify said logo?

It looks a little like an inverted Cardassian Union symbol.

Lovely work nonetheless

Is it Martok's family crest?

Awesome work while I've been away, the textures look a lot like the new Yesteryears Klingon textures I am using, must be why I like them so much. :lol2:

I have completed the textures to the best of my abilities. So, without further ado, may I present:

Looking good, SciFiFan. The textures and the model really suit each other nicely. I don't like Klingons as a rule, but this one's a welcome variation on a classic. By Klinker standards, she's a beauty. (That's like saying she's irrational by Vulcan standards....)

:D

Then I shall accept this as high praise. Thank you kindly sir.

Thank you very much. I plan on doing a Romulan skin as well. ;)

FTW? Don't you mean CTG (Conquer the Galaxy) :lol2:

Thank you all for the compliments!!

A Rommie one as well, eh? One of the things I'd like to see someone try is a bird motif which covers the ship completely. Saw a pic once of one of the old AMT model kits done this way and it was gorgeous!

As to the compliments, they are well deserved because of your talent. Now stop bowing and get back to work! :p :lol2:

Yeah, I love the TOS Romulan style with those fat red/brown bird patterns. :D

I now have the lighting done on the D7. Jetfreak graciously offered to do some editing to my textures. This first pick is mine next to Jet's.

variantswlights.jpg

That dark green is a color I wanted from the beginning but, was unsatisfied with every attempt I made. I like what Jet did because it made the lighting easier to see. I have then combined the two and did some more editing and I am very happy with the finish product.

What say the community?

To me it looks like the neck is much shorter than on the original. Which means that the D-7 looks much less vulnerable and much more frightening. I like how it looks, really dangerous and very TOSy. D-7 ctg! :p

I think that the neck looks shorter because it has that thincker base where it meats the body. ;)

Combining both was a great choice, now she looks a lot like Madman's original rendition. ^_^

Any chance you could release all three though? Variety is always welcome, the original grey can be modified into Kronos One with a little gold tint.

Thank you. That is a good idea. I actually like the green tinted one for the Romulan Stormbird. I was wanting to do the base textures (or if you would care to do the honors), and see if you would put the tint back on it. Kronos One could be a hero ship.

Quah'plah Knight!

All in good time, I will definitely check them out once you add the iconic Bird drawing on the hull.

Kronos one will be fairly easy as well.
