• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

That it would be.

Here is the write up that went with the sketch.
It's a nuclear electric spacecraft with a crew of six. It's about 50 percent propellant by weight when fully loaded, making it capable of round trips out as far as the asteroid belt without refueling. Due to the effects of freefall on a crew, however, it is only flown as far as mars. It's primary combat weapon is it's compliment of eight long range space missiles. It also carries a single megawatt-class near-infrared laser that can be sent through either of it's two 3m lenses, giving it a hard-kill range of several thousand kilometers. It's main engines are four electric plasma rockets grouped into pairs with opposite magnetic field direction so no torque is generated when operating in the earth's magnetic field. Manuvering thrust is provided by a number of bipropellant thrusters scattered across the craft's surface. It is built on a lightweight modular truss structure, which can be reconfigured in an emergency to allow the craft to operate properly with just a single main engine pod. There is no provision for artificial gravity so each crewmember will typically fly just one (long) mission in their career.

Did some structural additions to the crew area and fixed a few mesh errors.

I may still make a few changes but for the most part the modeling is done.

Ended up adding more detail to the back half. Now I can say I'm happy with the modeling and time to move onto texturing.

I never fail to be amazed by how quickly you manage to generate such high quality work. She (as does everything else you do) looks great.

Thank you.

Since I do plan to make a scene with the ship in it I started on some background models.

I must say, and I mean it...wow!

All this work is awesome, I flicked through many of the pages and was amazed by the quality of your work. Should do this professionally if you don't already :)

Thank you.

This is just my hobby. The time frames they give you when you go professional are just crazy.

Started work on my hypervoxel asteroid preset. Still have a few kinks in it but once done I'll be able to mass build asteroids for my scene.

Thanks

Was trying out a free sculpting program that was recommended to me. This is my second model in it and about 5 minutes of work.

So everyone know the program I was testing out is called sculptris. It is designed to work with Zbrush but does very well on it's own and is currently free.

With Majestic permission here is the link to the software. Pixologic :: Sculptris

Started on a crashed ship for the scene. It is kind of like minbari meets farscape.
