• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

Reverse Animation

Hey, does anyone know if it's possible to play a ship or station's animation in reverse? I found a mobile shipyard that has a really neat opening animation, but it's playing in reverse. I'm fairly certain I have the lines in the odf file correct for animating the shipyard, but the animation itself seems to have been created backward. Can i play the animation backward instead?

I don't know a way to reverse the animation short of editing the model itself, but I do know that setting the ScaleSOD to any value other than 1 can cause animations to be messed up. You might also try messing with the values of the 'animation' and 'buildAnimation' lines.

The only way to play an animation backwards to my knowledge is to have both:

animation = 1
buildAnimation = 1

The first line makes the station "open up" after building as usual. However, buildAnimation now plays backwards when you start building something, and forwards when construction is complete. Perhaps the animation is not actually backwards, but is meant to work the way I described: first it opens forwards, then plays backwards when you build something.

Perhaps something is different in A2 / FleetOps that I'm not aware of.

That's actually what I've got on the station at the moment (and it was based on Fahres's Ambush class) so I thought it would work. Unfortunately, instead of folding outward when it builds, it folds inwards and builds that way.
