• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Wendy Richard Has Passed Away

BBC News has reported on the passing of Wendy Richard.

Born on July 20 1943 Wendy Richard is well known for playing Pauline Fowler in Eastenders between 1985 and 2006.

She appeared as Pauline Fowler in the 30th anniversary Doctor Who skit Dimensions in Time in 1993 as it was a Doctor Who-Eastenders crossover.

She died on February 26 2009 at the age of 65.

Laurence Payne Has Passed Away

The Stage / News / Sexton Blake star Payne dies

Born on June 5 1919, Laurence Payne appeared in Doctor Who in The Gunfighters (1966), The Leisure Hive (1980) and The Two Doctors (1985)

Payne had also appeared with his The Leisure Hive co-stars Lalla Ward and Adrienne Corri in the 1972 Hammer Horror movie Vampire Circus.

Payne passed away on February 23 2009 at the age of 89.

Ali Bongo Has Passed Away

TV magician Ali Bongo has passed away at the age of 79 after suffering a stroke.

BBC NEWS | Entertainment | TV magician Ali Bongo dies at 79

Born on December 8 1929, his television credits included The Tomorrow People serial The Revenge of Jedikiah.

According to IMDb he has a Doctor Who credit for being a magic advisor, "unknown episodes" says IMDb.

He died on March 8 2009.

Derek Benfield Has Passed Away

Born on March 11 1926, Derek Benfield made an appearance in Doctor Who via Big Finish in the Sixth Doctor story Catch-1782 in 2005.

He died on March 10 2009 the day before his 83rd birthday.

Terence Alexander Has Passed Away

Terence Alexander who played Lord Ravensworth in the 1985 Doctor Who story The Mark of the Rani has passed away.

Born on March 11 1923, Alexander died on May 28 2009 at the age of 86.

Outside of Doctor Who, Alexander was well known as Charlie Hungerford in Bergerac.

Tenniel Evans Has Passed Away

The Guardian reports on the death of Tenniel Evans.

Born on May 17 1926 Tenniel Evans had been well known as Goldstein in the long-running radio series The Navy Lark.

One of his Navy Lark co-stars was Jon Pertwee who he was very good friends with. When Patrick Troughton stood down as the Doctor, Evans persuaded his friend Pertwee to tried out for the Doctor which he ultimately got.

Evans eventually appeared with Pertwee in Doctor Who in Carnival of Monsters playing Major Daly.

Tenniel Evans died on June 10 2009 at the age of 83.

Harry Towb Has Passed Away

It has been reported that Harry Towb has passed away at the age of 83.

Born on July 27 1925 he appeared in Doctor Who as Osgood in The Seeds of Death (1969) and as McDermott in Terror of the Autons (1971).

He died on July 24 2009 just three days before his 84th birthday.

Ray Barrett Has Passed Away

Australian actor Ray Barrett has passed away.

Born on May 2 1927, Barrett in his long list of credits included the 1965 Doctor Who story The Rescue.

His other roles included voicing John Tracy in Thunderbirds.

He died yesterday September 8 at the age 82.

Iain Cuthbertson Has Passed Away

Iain Cuthbertson has passed away at the age of 79.

Born on January 4 1930, Cuthbertson made an appearance in Doctor Who in the season 16 opener The Ribos Operation featuring Fourth Doctor Tom Baker playing Garron.

His other roles included the Adam Adamant Lives! episode D For Destruction (which incidentally also featured Second Doctor Patrick Troughton). In a sad coincidence saw him in the Adam Adamant photo gallery mere hours before learning of his passing.

He died on September 4 2009.

Barry Letts Has Passed Away

Former Doctor Who producer Barry Letts has passed away at the age of 84.

Born in 1925, Barry Letts was an actor before becoming a director and producer.

He was producer of Doctor Who between 1969 and 1974. Letts' first experience with Doctor Who was in 1967 when he directed the Patrick Troughton serial The Enemy of the World.
He became Producer from the second Jon Pertwee story The Silurians. During his tenure as producer he also directed the stories Terror of the Autons, Carnival of Monsters and Jon Pertwee's formal swansong Planet of the Spiders. Letts under the pseudonym Guy Leopold also co-wrote The Daemons with Robert Sloman.

As producer Barry Letts cast Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor. Letts stood down as Producer after overseeing Baker's first story Robot (although he did direct a later Tom Baker serial The Android Invasion). Years later he had a stint as Executive Producer in 1980-81 for the final Tom Baker season.

His contribution to Doctor Who in recent years was in the commentaries and documentaries made for the DVD releases of the stories he produced.

He died on October 9 2009.

Stephen Gately Has Died Suddenly

Stephen Gately a member of the band Boyzone has died suddenly:

Born on March 17 1976, Gately has made an contribution to Doctor Who when he appeared in January 2007 in the Eighth Doctor Big Finish audio episode Horror of Glam Rock in which he also recorded the original song "Children of Tomorrow".

Timothy Bateson Has Passed Away

Timothy Bateson has passed away on September 16 2009.

Born on April 3 1926, Timothy Bateson appeared in Doctor Who in the season 16 opener The Ribos Operation as Binro.

His other roles included the voice of Kreacher in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

He was 83.

Surprised it wasn't mentioned before, but I guess there are not many old Dr Who fans around these parts.
Anyway, in April this year Elisabeth Sladen passed away from cancer.

She was the longest serving Dr's assistant, and the only one who finally got her own spin-off show in recent years.
I grew up watching her and Tom Baker's Doctor prancing around the galaxy.

Rest in peace our Sarah-Jane. You will be missed:cry:

She was a good actor, I wonder what is going to happen to her spin-off series, assuming it still is in production.

We are loosing a lot of sci-fi actors recently.
