• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

After years of having movies like the Andromeda Strain, Resident Evil, etc... We can finally say germs are a real problem.

Here's a news article on Yahoo I found this morning...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/germs_in_space

For those that can't read it, basically, it reads some germs were sent into space in a culture disk, and then tested for changes. And as Science Fiction has often envisioned, they mutated and become more deadly.

So, what does this mean for? We,ll I think we can adapt to native germs. But they still become a sci-fi thriller turned real possibility.

But to an unsuspecting race if we ever encounter them, they're doomed, just like the mice.

Sounds like a good reason to make sure whoever goes into space is completely healthy.

True. It's also a good reason for limiting access to space... At least from a safety point of view.

Now if the invention of Artificial Gravity ever comes to bare, it would serve a valuable asset to prevent things like this. It's related to gravity, or lack of I should say.

But most importantly, it's reason to quarantine people when they return to earth. I'd had to see what a more lethal disease can do in the micro-gravity of space.

Oh yuck! I'm a total germophobe who is constantly using anti-bacterial hand sanitisers, washing my hands and not touching dirty things (pretty hard considering I work in customer service in a lingerie store!)!

That's pretty scary that they got more deadly...I think I'll stay on Earth.
