Question about textures and using Storm 3D on A2

Hi folks,

I remember that back in the days of A1 I could use Storm 3D to assign textures to files that were already in sod format. I seem to recall that the Storm 3D for A2 was stripped of many of those features. Can I assign textures to a sod in A2 with the Storm 3D?

I downloaded a nifty little ship pack from Pizza the Hutt that kitbashes some ships into designs from the Alternate Reality universe (Or JJ-Verse). These use the same textures as the AR Constitution pack that Jetfreak and Thuderfoot released. The regular saucer is plain, without ship name or registry, but the Connie pack brings several alternate names which are assigned to specific models. I would like to add these names to ships in the AR ship pack, cause I don't like seeing Federation ships without their names and registries, something always seems missing for me. Lol.

Anyway, I was wondering if I could do that through Storm 3D since they use the same base textures as the Connies.

Thanks and excuse any/all noob questions about modeling, of those I am the Master.

Ok, so I figured out how to work around the whole registry thing, but I'd still like to know if I can assign a texture through Storm 3D. One of the ships in the pack, the Ptolemy seems to not have been assigned the bottom saucer texture and is blank.

Thanks again.

Man that ship pack sure takes me back the early days of the JJverse hysteria. Thunderfoot and a few of us non-conformists would get pasted for succumbing to doing Abrams ships haha. ;) Would you mind attaching the Ptolemy's SOD file so I can take a look see. It's been ages since I've seen those models.

Speaking of which, I'll be checking my files to see if I still have the PSD of the Registry so you can make your own.

Fight the power Jetfreak!!! :exter:

Gah! It doesn't allow me to upload sod files. I can however upload the pack! It should be uploaded here now. If you can't access it, it's available in Armadafiles and A2 Nexus.

And thanks for making this awesome pack of AR ships, and Thunderfoot as well. I love the AR as much as the Prime Universe, for different reasons. I also appreciate you looking into the Ptolemy.

So I've hopefully fixed the issue with the Ptolemy. And I've also attached a PSD file so you can make custom registries on your own. Let me know if there are more snags along the way. ;)
