So, I've had some time to think about this over the Christmas Break - and a good while before that. I think that I might be starting up my own book publisher here in the next few months. Well, ePublisher at least.
This is probably a spectacularly bad idea to do as I'm getting ready to begin my student teaching experience next week, but the idea has been gnawing at me for the last year or two, and now I think I'm ready to try and start her up.
Everything - in terms of details - is a little rough right now. I've got a good standard publisher-author agreement worked out - thanks be to the Google - and I'm working to build things based on that. Looking at a bit of a diverse base as far as audience goes. There are a number of budding novelists at my school - and maybe here too, eh? - that are looking to get their work out there, and I think I can provide a decent way for them to be able to do it.
Also, I love reworking old public domain books into legible ebooks, which few people outside of Project Gutenburg seem interested in doing. It's good to get some of those old stories and scholarship out there, even if it is a bit dated.
So, why am I posting about this here? Excellent question! A big reason is that it's 2am, I'm excited about this, and I've got no one else to talk to about it haha! Also, I can't figure out Photoshop for the life of me, so I'm redownloading my old friend Macromedia Fireworks - which I was actually semi-trained on - to work on a logo idea. And it's taking far too long to download.
Soooo....any feedback? Ideas? Warnings? Excited jubilations?
