• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

thats great! I really like your 'Aegean' class, Achilles, and 'specially the spacedock:clap: did you do the textures on the dock?

Belive it or not those are the stock textures Shadow made for it. I read up on how the effects crews for TNG would light the 6' Galaxy model to make it look grey so I tried to do the same thing. Worked out good.

Yes, I was surpried to see that new Aegean class model, but what I liked the most was that Spacedock, it looks really good :).

The Aegean class design is based on an unseen starship from First Contact. The ship was intended to be the Admirals command ship; the USS Endeavor. I used a starship called the midwinter by Iosys as the basis for the conversion.

The dock is stock Shadow except I consolodated the mesh groups and added LODs, bump, and specular maps. I just used some yellow in the directional lights on the map and turnd the ambiant light off.

I like the concept pic of the ship, it fits with the new style of ships that began been costructed by the time of the movie First Contact.

Aye, tis a good looking ship there :)

As for my installs, I've got two at the mo'.

One is for Clone Assault (which I must make a thread about) that has nothing in it but a new background.

The other I set up this morning. I've got a free day today, so I'm going to do some work on my personal mod. Gonna' take a crack at making a GUI for the Klingons. :eek:

Hello:
If there is a mod that I have been applying a HUGE lot is Thunderfoot's Physics files. He made the ones I am using when BSG was still airing season2 or 3 and his files make the ships to move like in the show. An example is how in season4, when Galactica moves maneuvers to attack the Rebel Baseship when it first arrives to the Fleet, Thunderfoot physics files allows you to recreate that exactly.

As for other mods, I have a huge bunch installled and Ithink i really need to make a clean instal to organize my mess so I can also start with FleetOps.

Here's an idea I had for making planets have an upgrade pathway dependent on the Side upgrading them, including a chart for how to set game balance on a 1-5 level.

@PreciousRoy please use the edit function in future rather than double posting. You'll see the edit function at the bottom of your posts, if that function is gone (which is goes after 20 minutes or so) then it's okay to double post after that.

Also it is recommended that you use the attachment feature over external image hosts. You like everyone else had unlimited attachment space. Feel free to ask one of the staff if you need a run down on how to use it.

Well, still working on making all the wireframes to show up in the global sprite file but am chugging along. It's based on BIVR + AOW (especially the special weapons). I'm thinking about trying some GUI mods like Fahres' CompactClear or ProjectBlue just for a change of pace, though I'm worried that it might look weird with races other than the Federation (I have the 7th Fleet Command buttons now).

If you look at the screenshots included for the 2012 Armada 2 Physics Project, there's a GUI mod somewhere that shrinks the cinematic window (bottom right) to half its size and places it on the left-hand side near the map, then puts resources under that. I'd love to figure out which mod did that and see if those changes are compatible with FO Classic
