Hello:
Looks who's back!... oh noes! ... * ahum*.

I was wondering, is there any modeller thinking to make Planetary Union ships as low-polygon 3d models for the game? The series "The Orville" presented us very nice-looking ships that look (as I said in another topic) like lovechilds between the Andromeda Ascendant and the NSEA Protector... which is actually very awesome! But that also means it will be a pain to build and to texture .

I would be up for the challenge and to upload them all here (oh dear, me releasing something!?) when things gets less hectic. Bt only if nobody else would like to try them.

The Orville is a far simpler design than the Andromeda, the rings either mold into the hull edge of terminate below it, they don't wrap around. The hard bit would be trying to make the rings smooth with a low poly count, and texturing the curves (which I really hated on the Wyvern).
So I don't think they'd be difficult to do, just time consuming. And nope, no plans from me to do that.

Hello:
I am only 90% agree with you as I have made System Commonwealth ships ( https://chiletrek.deviantart.com/gallery/40591033/Andromeda-Renders , with a couple of other ships done too), I agree that it helps BIG TIME that the Orville's rings don't wrap around, but that is the lesser evil. I say that because I have also made the Triumvir Heavy Cruiser, and that ship has a main hull very much like the Orville's and it was hard to make it's texture  .

But if there are no plans, I would be up for the challenge, but not for at least a couple of weeks... if you agree.
