Another high-quality independent fan production in the works! I came across these guys a few weeks ago, and I just realized that I don't think I've seen them posted about here yet. They just successfully wrapped up their first Kickstarter yesterday.

The synopsis (from their site):
The year is 2200. Four decades have passed since the devastating Romulan War, and while Earth prevailed, mankind was scarred with the memory of its first interstellar war. Now, humanity’s future belongs to the children of those who fought and died those years ago, and they are eager to resume peaceful exploration of the stars. These hopes and dreams ride with the launch of Earth’s newest starship: Pacific. But the final frontier is full of untold dangers, and when crisis befalls the Pacific in deep space, it will take a crew of incredible bravery and fortitude to boldly go into the unknown.

I'm pretty excited about this project, about just as much as I am about Axanar. The passion that each holds for Trek is apparent, and both of them are exploring fantastic 'Lost Eras' of Trek. And the historical approach that Pacific is taking really intrigues me. You'll see what I mean in the video below.

Also, they're doing a fresh take on the Daedalus-Class, circa the opening of the 23rd century, which I'm also liking the look of.

What do you guys think?

I like the look of it a lot. Keep posting updates.

I'm kind of interested in how they plan to create more continuity between ENT and TOS. Given the massive number of changes in ENT, I've been working with the explanation that ENT is in an alternate timeline created by the TCW. I'm not sure it works otherwise, but I'm interested to see what they come up with.

Great find Zelph

Is it bad when the fan made fan productions as better than the official stuff

They're doing an interesting take, which I actually like, especially from my perspective as a historian.

From the historical context video above:
We're not looking to satisfy canon per say. We're looking to represent a time and a place that will actually happen. So in that sense, we're not making a Star Trek movie. We're making a historical film, set in the future, that happens to assume that Star Trek is our future.
He then mentions some of those canonical ambiguities between Enterprise and TOS, and how they're working to harmonize many of them.

I've seen some things about this before on DeviantART mostly. Keep posting updates, fan productions and books are the only true Star Trek these days.

I'd like to think because of the interference by Janeway in saving 29th century Earth (in the episode where they were thrown back to 1996) the TCW was created, which created ENT, which created AR Trek. A single ship being destroyed in AR Trek because of Nero going back in time wouldn't make the massive changes we see in ship design etc. Plot hole there. So I have come up with my own ideas.
