I don't mind if it's in just english, all of my ST games are that.

Sadly, most games do start with only a single language. If the demand is high enough, then the company usually would port it to addition languages. But asside from that, the non-voice sounds are universal.;)

Having no problem with english in Games. Operation Flashpoint, Full Spectrum Warrior and such did run on English on my PC :)

It is just that the process of translating voices etc takes its time and here I get the games much later than the rest of the world.

The north American version of Encounters is out.

I went out and got it. I have to say, it was a bit disappointing. There is more puzzle style challenge to it than action (at least in the Episode mode). The graphics is a plus, even for PS2. The nice surprise was that the voice narration is by William Shatner (or maybe it's someone that sounds like him).

Legacy won't be having a demo unfortuneately. Just have to buy it and hope for the best...of course it would help if they at least published the system requirements.

I don't think I will have to worry about the performance of my pc. Mine PC was top of the line in Feburary 2006 so I think I am safe. But for may thousands of gamers it would be helpful if they publically released the min operating specs.

Me and Achilles were speaking about this some time back and he said something rather wise,

"They're going to want as many people to buy it as possible. Especially those not even in the know of Star Trek, so the requirements can't be that high."

What I DO know is that one of the dev's. was running it on an ATI Radeon 9800XT 256mb graphics. Granted, I have a 9600pro, I'm inclined to believe that the radeon 9000 series aswell as the GeForce 6000 series should be enough to run it, even on min. which is far better than nothing.

In terms of ram or processor speed, absolutely no idea. Best guess would that it'd be on DVD.

Release date in US on PC and X360 is Nov. 7th. Not even sure if Europe has a publisher/distributor and moreso the rest of the world.

Well if it will run on a 6000 series GeForce card I should be safe, though I plan on building a new computer in a few months.

I myself have a Raedion 9600 series card. I have enough harddrive space, ram and processor power to fly a starship.

But yes the game developers if smart will make it so a large majority could run it. I am personally going to buy the Xbox 360 version first, if I like the game then I will buy the pc version. Reason for this is Xbox 360 games hold their value better and I can play multiplayer with some people.

As for the release date, I heard a rumour ages ago that Australia was going to get in in Janurary, I hope that has changed and is no december or something, as I have 3 weeks off over christmas. :D

I will post those system specs as soon as I find out.

As far as Encounters being a lessor version of Legacy, It's not. Encounters is a action game with puzzle like elements. Oh, and it is William Shatner's voice (Captain KIRK for those that don't know) in the game. I checked the credits, and sure enough. I have played the game through the ENT and TOS/TMP Era episode/missions, and am now on the TNG era. Oh, and you even get to fly a Klingon Battlecruiser on a few missions.

System Specs for the Encounters game...

1-T.V.
1-PS2 w/cables
1-analog controller
1-memory card with space to store save points.
:lol2:

It's a game that will grow on you if you get it. The first run, I was not too happy. But after playing it a bit more, I'm starting to like it.

On a scale of 1-10, I give it a 8 rating. They could have done a bit better, but it's good as it it. One more thing, Encounters is a TWO PLAYER capable game, as well as a single player. As a 2 player, it gives it some reuse value.

Ah okay I may have to buy a second hand PS2 when that game comes out here in Aus. ;)

Yes, you should. I went out and got a PS2 just for 2 titles originally. Now I have about 20 in less than 3 months. Obviously, Encounters is my latest addition to them. I when out and got it as soon as it was released.

Next stop, Star Trek: Legacy... I will get my copy no later than Nov. 10.:excited:

Rub it in :p , the rest of the world will not get it till the year 2008 knowing how things goes with companies UK may get it earlier but the other countries have no hope. I like what they did with Halo 2 though and had a world release, pitty they arn't doing it with the Star Trek games. :(

All you need to do is find a company that ships outside North America. Order one that way. I do believe that should fall within international trade guidelines with your country, as well as the U.K. as allowed.

I've only played it for a few hours. I'm still at the TNG level (one more episode).

Encounters Info: (not much I'm afaid)
We plan to release information soon on the game's publisher and release
date in Europe. Thanks for your interest.

Legacy:

Here's some info about the testing systems used and things supported/not supported-
As of now Legacy runs well on an AMD Athlon 64 3400+, 1 Gig of Memory, and a 9800 ATI…or specs close to that. (These are not the official specs, just a machine Writeall has been using).

Legacy will not support Split screen.

Well, that's all I have for now.

if u want help PM me :) . btw the 1st voyager lvl is a pain ( 4 races in the 1 lvl ) . but the last lvl is the greatest battle ive ever had ( no joke ) . also Star Trek Sovereign is the Enterprise E ;) .

info on the era's and ur enemys in em

Star Trek Enterprise = ur enemy is the Xindi , 1st is a training but take ur time
Star Trek ( TOS ) = ur enemy is the Klingons , this is interestin , the Enterprise A is under ur command
Star Trek TNG = Romulans are your prey . the last level can give u headaches tho
Star Trek DS9 = Jem Hadar ships are your prey , a very gd era , u get to control DS9 in the last lvl
Star Trek Voyager = your Delta Quadrent pals are your enemys , including Kazon and Borg . quite fun but also annoyin some parts
Star Trek Sovereign = Orians are the main enemys here . this is the best of the lot with the Enterprise E i think .

ok , spoilers , here is how the last lvl is great , skip if u dont wanna know yet. Select text to read.

the USS Enterprise returns to Earth , a strange lunar thingy has appeared , you are to check it out . once u get close Xindi appear and attack . on the 3rd round of them the NX-01 appears along with a xindi fleet and a damaged superweapon ! . destroy em all ! . next some Jem'Hadar appear ( USS Defiant comes as well ) , in this fight you loose contact with Captain Picard and the Enterprise and u get to control the NX-01 against Jem'Hadar ships ( Battleships ect ) . by now im guessing you have figured it out , its temporal ! , after the Jem Hadar , some Klingons and USS Enterprise A comes to play , again kill em all , you will loose contact with both Archer and Kirk ( both Enterprises ) and you get control of the USS Defiant ( yehaa :D ) . blow em away to Sto'Vo'Koa ! , again . you will see a the screen change a bit and the Defiant will move back in time to 2006 , ou must perform a Time Warp ! . do NOT miss a single ring ( sounds hard but i found it quite easy , the Defiant can move a lot faster than the others ) . once this is done you will find yourself back in the battle . this time the Romulans have managed to conquer earth and you must destroy all ships and there orbital station to restore time . USS Voyager is here and already shootin rommys for you . but the Defiant again takes a trip thro time and you control USS Voyager . again , blow it to hell :D . next is the Borg , the USS Enterprise E appears again and the Borg have assimilated Earth , you are to destroy all borg ground bases with your torpedos . but USS Voyager will disappear and you have the Enterprise again . easy to destroy a few borg with capt picard ;) . once this is done . prepare yourself . this is the last fight and its even had me happy :D . all ships meet up ( all USS Enterprises , USS Voyager , USS Defiant ect ) who you have fought besides on this lvl ( no D tho , 2 Picards would confuse ppl to much :D ) . includin all enemys ! . they are all workin together and a massive fleet comes . you are to work with your ships and destroy all of them ! . this is hard as the damage you will take will , well lets just say keep a close eye on your energy and keep shields to max ! . blast em all away ! . you have plenty of prey , destroy em all ! . hell even i was spoiled when it came to pickin the next prey ! . most ships are battleships or cruisers ( Warbirds , Negh'Var , Tatical Cubes , Dominion Battleships ect ) so be careful . i advise you target shields for all ships to kill em quickly ( i do this in every mission , kill em before they kill me ! ) . this battle will end once the timeline removes your prey . bullseye ;) . you have just killed a ton of ships ( my best in this is 261 ships :D , but im workin on improvin this to maybe 300 )

End of Spoilers

now you see why i think this lvl is great :D . so many prey , so little time !

I think this is where people start planning to mod the game.

Only 16 days until the North America release of Star Trek: Legacy ! :excited:
(I obviously miss counted when I posted 2 weeks until I get my copy... Aweek or so ago).

I will be happy with the stock game for a while I think. I won't be planning on modding the game for at least a few months. That and I want to finish off my Armada 2 modding projects first. ;)

It's T-minus 12 days and counting until Legacy is released...

So who is going to be the first one here to get it?

Who all is going to get a copy when possible?
