• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I'm attempting to find a copy of the Assimsoft 3D Editor so I can reposition the joints/hardpoints on a MS3D model I have (and then use the HP map Majestic sent me in another post on a coupe of other models). I keep being sent to a dead download link on the Fleet Ops forums. I then checked A2F and Gamefront (formerly Filefront). Nothing came up.

Can anyone send it to me or post it in the download section? With Majestic's hp map, I can get my projects up and running a lot faster if I can manipulate the hardpoints instead of making a new hierarchy each time.

I wasn't able to find it online either, and I checked my archives but couldn't find a copy of it. :(
Apart from here, you could always ask over at FO.net - it's not as lively as it used to be, but worth a try.

FO's forums look dead when I checked them out years ago. Unless you can pull off some *minor* necromancer magic, there is no point.

I'll hope on Discord to see if anyone has a copy they can share....but I doubt it. If possible, can you say something to the other Admins? I'm sure one of them have it. Just trying to add a few hardpoints to one YY model was a pain.

I dug a little deeper. Is this what you're looking for? It says something about "Assimsoft 3D Editor", but also "Ultimate Trek Mod Viewer", so I'm not sure what it actually is. Also, this is some seriously old software, I can't confirm that it actually works beyond starting on my system.

It appears so...

Dang, I can't believe how old this is...but if the interface is anything to go on, its like pre-90's computer age.

Based on the last hour or so of digging around (and attempting to figure the program out); it appears that's a master program to edit/import/export/create SFC, Armada, KA, BC, EF, and BotF models along with testing textures for the models and creating model hierarchies. On top of that it was supposed to be the program the Assimsoft Team were going to use for their indi Star Trek game franchise.

It's going to take some time to figure out how exactly it works as they built in some safe guards to prevent theft of models, but it works. Crudely, but it seems to function.
