Pretty self explained.

What is the meaning and history behind your username?

I will start.

I have been using the name Majestic for the last 7 years. I started using it in 2000 when I started to venture into the internet and required a username.

"Majestic is an adverb of Majesty which means stateliness, grandeur or supreme power."

Though I didn't know this at the time when I choose the name.

The name actually came from Star Trek Armada for me. Anyone familiar with the stock game will have noticed that one of the Sovereign class battleships is called the USS Majestic. I played the stock game for ages and one weekend (back in mid 2000) I played around 5-8 games. Each time I sent a Sovereign fleet into an enemy base or an enemy fleet attacked my base, most of my Sovereigns were killed. But the USS Majestic always seemed to survive.

Over time many other people on the net started or already used Majestic as a screenname, so on such sites as A2files and originally SFM before their crash I use(d) the name Majest a short version of Majestic. I started using it after the name of my first RPG character in Syf's Legacy RPG , John Majest. He was the Chief Engineer and later First Officer. That character seems to have done pretty well for himself, he is now a Captain in the Midway RPG a mixture of the work I did (with others) on two other failed RPG's on another site.

Back to the name, I still pefer Majestic and on those sites where I have to use Majest the name Majestic has been taken my people who have either never posted or only posted once or twice. This really bugs me, especially on A2files where I visit quite often.

I have told you my story, now tell us yours. :)

My User name started out a few years ago. I wanted a name that matched me as good as possible. One day, I came up with the idea the take each letter of my first, middle, and last "real" names, and make a name out of it. Then I evolved it by changing the letters to make more sense as a "name". This is how "Syf" was born. At the time, I was a big fan of all things Trek. So, I added Captain to it. Of coarse, back then, a screen name on some sites I visited was limited to 8 characters. So, I shortened it to CaptSyf. I've been known on the net now for about 6 years (I started using CaptSyf in 2001). Now more recently, I have dropped the Captain from my name. So, now I go by Syf. That's what I prefer, is just Syf.

**Saying my name***
Now for those that have trouble with figuring out how to say Syf correctly, Here's how is ryhmes. It Ryhmes with gift, minus the "T". So you would say it "gif". So there you have it, Syf.

Note: Syf DOES NOT rhyme with Knife...

Lol not much to tell but here it goes

Paul is just my first name ;) , Couldnt think of a good name that wasnt taken back when i first got on the net ( about 3 years ago ) so i just used my own first name on everything i go on , Sometimes its Paul2004 but not very often . I still cant think of a good ID except callsigns from Ace Combat so i continue to use my own name . simple , easy to remember

Well, basically it's what I am.

When I first found out about modding (back in 2004) I signed up under 'Beginner' on A2files. Soon after I tried to sign up to GF but found the name 'Beginner' was already taken . Looking through a very handy thesaurus, I came up with Amateur and that just seemed to stick. Now I go by that on all sites save A2files, still plain old beginner there :)

I have a history to it believe it or not. At first glance you assume it's from Stargate but I've had it before SGA.

I am an author of three novels. Each one starts with the title: The Order of Atlantis: [insert subtitle] Adam is my first name so I just went with Adam_Atlantian. Not a really dramatic history but it is the source of my name :D

Well mine started like in 2000 when I got my PC, so I in that time I was a fan of a Soccer Club called "Tiburones Rojos Del Veracruz" so the forums and web site of this club was very good (despites bad results of the club in the league) I entered trying to be "Tiburonrojo" but it was already used and then some options appeared and there was "Tiburonrojo150" and I used this nick for about 2 years, meanwhile I discovered the A2 Filefront Files, and registered, later on I tried to start a mod whitout succes, here changing my name to TiburonMirrror150, and using this nick for a while here (If I'm not wrong) and later on being alittle more "cool" I thinked about a short form of my nick and came the idea of TM150, currently I don't keep being a fan of the soccer club but by things of destiny the club that I support now use the T too "Tuzos del Pachuca" quite funny

This user name is more or less the first one I ever used, in 1999 I came across an interesting flash game site that had a Tank battle game where you could build fortresses, battle other players, and a few other things I forgot over time . I tried it a few times as a guest and was hooked, so I decided to register to the site. I put in the first thing that poped in my mind; icewolf...it was already taken, so I put in a few numbers I knew I could remember...icewolf132....it worked, yay!

When AFC set up their new forums in 2003 (I think) I bumped on there with the same username, and over time made some friends. A few years down the road I dropped the numbers for a bit of a change, and for a few other reasons.

That's pretty much the story

Icewolf, by any chance was that game called Terra? Lol It isn't flash, but sounds hell like your one.

I got my name, well, its weird, back in August last year. I was playing Final Fantasy VIII at the time, had just once again for the nth time gained the Ragnarok airship. So loving the name and look of it, I used it for a first name. Bad thing was "Username has already been taken." That annoyed me a fair bit.:x

So I decided to use 3 numbers from my email addy instead. Easy to remember.

The other username I use is PhoenixDragon in some games.

I got this nickname on A2 right after I DL'd the Tholian full race MOD and started using it exclusively on A2. One night , one of my usual opponents says , "It's almost raining Tholians over here. Knock it off , Jeff!"

I usually go with Battletech-based names , but when I signed up on here , I figured I'd stick with my A2 nick to better explain my fighting style.

Tholians rule.

well, I've always been Knight in some form or another since I started using the internet. I wrote fanfiction for a while, in which the main character usually had 'Knight' as a name/surname (i should add that it is not my real surname).

The reason for that is pretty much because I grew up with Knight Rider lol. I still love it today. I loved that car so much, and i still want to own a Pontiac Trans-am like it someday. Although as i've got older, i've become less enamoured with Kitt (the goody goody car that was in every episode) and more intrigued by Karr (the evil prototype version of the same vehicle, identical in every way in his first appearance. the second appearance saw him get a sparkly new paint job lol. I maintain the belief that he wasn't evil, just misunderstood).

So, yes, I've always been Knight. when i signed up for A2 filefront, Knight was apparently already taken on the forums (ive never seen said person tho) so I added the HighGuard part because I was really into Andromeda, and was looking for the ships to add to Armada lol. many thanks to Rodglas for makin that happen for me! and i figured cos i was HighGuardKnight on filefront, I should be here too lol.

so, thats why I'm 'Knight' or on ocassion 'HighGuardKnight'

Jedd,

Well, tbh i cant remember when it was ive had a computer since forever (well 9 years atleast) and had the internet a few years later. i was young and spent most of the time downloading pokemon games lol. but around the time i of Starwars Ep1 (phantom menace) came out i heard of planetarion, which i became addicted to, under the name od Cenpap (short for the mis-spelled Senetor Palpatine) seriously disliking my alias, i created characters, (i like writing) and the first character i created was basically a person who lost all they had, and wandered the universe lost, and with only himself, he fought against the will of the universe (probably says volumes about my personality)

His Name was originally lost, and was only known by an acronym, J.E.D.D meaning Journeying Entity Designed for Destruction.

From then on i addopted the name for myself, and it became Jedd. which due to a school friend and a very boring Business studies lesson, became Jeddyweddywoo and to sound less camp and a little shorter, it became Jeddy.

The name is from a character (one of my favourites) in a game I run, and is effectively the3 latest permutation of a character type that i have been playing for a good 17 years....

In this case he's an Uruk (anyone familiar with Lord of the rings will have a good guess at the derivation.... and possibly at who i was cheering for in the films) but basically he's just a big mean fighting machine....with a brain.

The w bit.... well that's just having big fingers and a small laptop keyboard :)

EDIT: the 'w' bit has now become a part of secret history....

if you need to know then it's already too late..:p

My first name, middle intial "John" and my last name. Plain and simple. I had it since the internet was invinted. Way back when yahoo was first made and I was running Windows 3.1.1. :lol2:

My other 2 names consist of Behemoth, which stands for large object being creature, building, etc. Behemoth orginated out of the "Black Bible" Something I was greatly into back in my teenage years, (hung out with the wrong group of kids back in the day), I took that name with me when I went into the independent back yard wrestling circuit, and kept it ever since.

My third name "FatMan" came about due to my size. I'm 300lbs and only 5'6". I really enjoyed the reinvention of the new Batman movies, and I would always go around telling people "I'm Fat!!!" I always played "Fat" by Wierd Al Yankovic. Thus I became known as FatMan between my friends and family. See, I'm proud of my weight. I joke around with it, ever since middle school, that way when the kids teased me, it never worked because I always joked about my weight.

Well....that's it for me.

Whats the 1025 for? I always wondered that as I always get it mistaken for 1024 (1024kb in a MB and so on).

middle intial "John" :

Same here my middle name is John, hence what my RPG characters are called John Majest. ;)

okay.. well i would've signed in as phoenix... but it was taken. THEN i would have used my other one which has been my e-mail since aol room chattin days. Ph0eniixx, but that was strangely taken....

so here comes DarkPhoenix. i suppose i should go into detail.

i like the myth of the phoenix. i love the x-men. i came upon a character named jean grey. she has powers of telekinesis and telepathy. i would LOVE to be able to do that. anyway, in most of the comic books she was the one that needed to be saved or got in the way or was a tag along for interaction purposes.

then comes the phoenix saga. oh boy, my favorite knock off suddenly became THE most powerful thing in the universe. which was fantastic... then she succumbed to human emotions and feelings and became DARK phoenix. she destroyed a sun and killed billions to satisfy her hunger. eventually she was subdued and killed by an alien race known as the shi'aar. well the phoenix force that possessed jean realized her error and brought jean back to life with a bit of life force from all of her friends. in essence she was brought back by love. since i'm a hopeless romantic.. i thought that was tear jerking. (i was way peeved that they killed her but was much relieved that she was ressurected!)

the end.
Rick:clap:

The Dark Phoenix (Jean Grey) is my favorite character mostly because of the superpowers that could prettty much bring down anyone, villain or hero. She really had Magneto by the jewels when she took apart that anti-mutant venom thing and pointed it at Magneto.

My username, well this isn't tthe only username I've used. On Elrond's site, I have used Amy, A'mael, and Earwen.

So my username here came about because it's my name.

Thanks amy! i know she could've take magneto down hardcore. i didn't like the direction the 3rd movie went. at the end of the second one, you could clearly see her flying over the water. the professor sensing this and being unconcerned. then all the sudden she's a split personality psycho. i don't know... the third movie just seemed to let me down. i wish they would've waited for bryan singer.. seriously.

Yeah depressing isn't it? I'm about the same age (34) and many of my friends call me old man:(

Well I grew up on british sci-fi in the 70's and 80's. The best of the bunch has always been Blake's 7. A truely groundbreaking show in it's day, with superbly written characters.
The coolest, cleverest, and most devious character on the show was of course Avon:)

This is where my username comes from (not to be confused with a brand of womens cosmetics with the same name )
