The Vigil class corvette is the result of today's work.. She is a small vessel often used for anti-pirate duties and scouting. This actually took longer to map than any of the other ships. Glad it is done now.

She is comparable in size to the CR90 Corellian corvette utilised by the Rebel Alliance.

I like it. At first I thought little baby star destroyer. :lol2: Those all look superb. Just for clarification with you offering the use of your works if I port over a Star Wars Fleet Command mod for FO your stipulations are that said work only be released here correct?

Thank you Rifraf.

I will be doing the Tartan later today or tomorrow. The Tartan will be the Imperial version of the CR90, designed for small hit and run missions and anti-fighter screening. The Vigil I look at more of a scout and low level corvette for boarder patrols.

Taking a short break to ready some of my older files to be re-uploaded to the resource section.

As for my models as long as it's only hosted on MSFC (that being my models, both separate or in a project) anyone can use the models in a public project.

I plan to get as many Star Wars models done as I can before my motivation moves elsewhere, which all can be used in a Star Wars mod if you like. I do have a heap of them, I might even finish modeling the other ones I have half complete if my motivation keeps up. Thankfully the Imperial textures are rather simple and thus makes pumping them out rather quick. I am going to look at seeing if I can duplicate them for rebel and pirate models, would mean I can get more models done faster.

EDIT:
Something new to add to the collection.

You know I'm going to have to start merging these posts of mine, with so few responses it makes me look like a spammer.

Or maybe I'll stop updates for the foreseeable future. :p

Anyway some updates. I updated the textures on the ship above, this included adding some lights for the weapons and cockpit/bridge and I also made the mk IV as well.

Also the Star Destroyers and Acclamators are up in the downloads section, be sure to rate and comment if you download. :)

I'm loving the textures on those Interceptor frigates! Much better than in Empire at War. I want to get some of these downloaded to put in game, I just need to wait until I'm on campus...internet at my apartment has been hecka bad lately.

You're doing some beautiful work with these man, definitely don't stop! :)

Thanks Zelph, that's great to hear. I'll probably do a few rebel designs soon, to try out the simple texture approach. I have the Corellian Corvettes, Marauder Corvette and Quasar Frigate that I want to use as guinea pigs.

As for EAW, the funny thing is the textures didn't take that long to do. About an hour maybe two once the mapping was done. The Interceptor IV was even faster thanks to sharing so many parts in common. They also share the same texture map as I was lazy.

I went with the battered rusted look for these, being pirates and modified Corellian cargo freighters they aren't renown for being powerful, or even in good shape. I am thinking the entire Zhan lineup would be similar in appearance as being a criminal underworld group they don't have the resources or financial backing that the Empire or Rebels have.

What does everything think? Constant textures for the Zhan or should I do some variations to show a more pirate mismatch feel?

Don't stop posting. :) In the last few weeks it's like almost everyone has disappeared from all forums. Life and summer and whatnot I suppose. It's sad that there isn't much being posted so it's nice to read stuff from anyone especially when they post cool pictures of all their work. :)

As for the textures, I say a teensy bit of variation though not too mismatch. Just my opinion

Thanks Rifraf, I forgot it's summer in the Northern Hemisphere, it's winter here in Australia, no snow yet in my area but it's cold enough to run the woodfire constantly.

Glad you like what I am doing, if I keep it up I'll probably have quite a fleet for you to do a mod with. :D

Release update, the following have been released on MSFC:
I'd like to thank Jetfreak for all his hand work on the renders, they really bring the best out of my models and it's always a pleasure to have his high skilled work as part of my releases.

I am planning on doing a few Rebel ships next before I take a break and work on another website, I might do a day on, day off work schedule to work on both projects. We'll see how it all goes. I guess it depends on how motivated I am with either project. :)

I haven't downloaded anything yet, but I keep browsing through the resource section and these all look fantastic. And Jetfreak makes them look spectacular in all the pictures. Kudos to you both.

I downloaded the the old Star Wars Fleet Command mod and am starting to look through it to get a bearing on what all I'd need to do.

Thanks mate, an update the Victory is now up. That is the last of batch #1. I plan to do a few more models over the coming days so more will be on there way soon.

I am looking at doing a Rebel ship today, I only got basic regrouping and early mesh corrections done yesterday. I plan to finish that this afternoon, map her and hopefully texture her and post some nice screenshots either tonight or tomorrow. So stay tuned, I am also interested if anyone has requests, as you never know I might have the model laying around. :)

EDIT:

Update time. Today I got another model done. Had to do some adjustments to the mesh and due to the amount of cylinders this thing uses it did go over the amount of poly's that I wanted by about 400-600. But hell it isn't that bad and still well within a playable and spamming range for Fleet Ops.

Now it's time to show off some classics, if you don't know this ship all I can say is shame on you. :lol2:

Ah, the Corellian Corvette. One of my fav ships. Love this design. I bought this Lego set a few years ago and it's huge. Won't build it as I won't open the box, but still. :) This, the Nebulon B, and the Imperial SD are may favorite large ships. Also have the Lego ISD which is even more huger. Sorry, my inner child is coming out. :lol2: Looks great Majestic

Thank you mate. While I have an incomplete Nebulon-B floating around somewhere that ship probably won't be done in this batch. It has a lot of work needing to be done to bring in down in poly count. However I think I will get around to it at one point in the future.

great models, some i don't even know.

Probably not, this project is designed to bring those ships I have already modeled to A2 by texturing them and finishing up any mesh work they might need. Most of this is minor work. I still have some Stargate and Battlestar Galactica meshes to texture as well. However in the future I may come back and make some more models and might consider it. I have yet to see Rebels but remember it's early announcement.

I'll probably start mass downloading all your Star Wars stuff Majestic, but I just did the DP Gunships for now to have a peek at your files. Now I don't mean to sound like I'm totally helpless and can't do anything on my own, but I see you only provide the HP map so I'll have to make all the ODF's which is no biggie (when I do make them all do you want copies or do you care?)

Only question is would the missiles typically face forward on Star Wars ships? I'm a tad out of my element when it comes to this universe. I guess I can load up the sod's if I really have to know specifically where a certain HP is located though.

I guess I would also tie the lifesupport, shieldgenerator, sensors, hulltarget and criticaltarget hardpoints all to your hull/bridge hardpoints?

If you want to send me a copy that would be great. At one point I will probably do a mod with these models, but that is a long way off and I'd rather have them released for others to use.

On the DP Gunships, I plan to do a re-texture on those to match my other ships, the Hardpoint layout will be the same. That is probably going to be either this weekend or early next weeks job. Depending on if I can get this model I am doing today and the next one I have planned done in a decent amount of time.

Missiles on Star Wars ships mostly face forward if my memory serves and aren't a very common weapon.

I guess I would also tie the lifesupport, shieldgenerator, sensors, hulltarget and criticaltarget hardpoints all to your hull/bridge hardpoints?

I would put the criticals as being the bridge and others I would just use the hull hardpoint locations. It's only for the game to know when that hardpoint is hit, this system has a chance of being damaged or disabled.

And the Sundered Heart hero unit as seen in Empire at War.

EDIT 2: Quasar

Ah the never ending edit post. Lets see how long I can keep this role going. :lol2:

Here is the labour of approx a day and a half of work. To be honest this took a lot longer than I wanted, the cockpit/bridge area was a real pain to map and get right without large amounts of texture stretch. It turned out alright, good enough for the lower quality textures purposes I have here.

Now I don't expect many to know much about this class of ship. Basically it's a freighter retrofitted to serve as a fighter carrier. It's a frigate sized vessel and I look at it as the Rebel's anti-fighter frigate, but instead of using AA guns like the Victor, the Rebels counter the enemy fighters with their own fighters.

EDIT 3: Corellian Gunships

Well the other day I got these finished, the Corellian Gunships, same models as my previously released ones more or less, but remapped, re-textured and re-hardpointed to match my other Star Wars models I have been doing lately.

Not only did I do the DP10 and DP20 but I also did a DP15. While I don't consider the DP15 canon in my own little Star Wars universe canon, I look at it more as a pirate version, who have salvaged and put together two DP gunships (1 DP10 and 1 DP20) to make one complete and working vessel.

All these models share the same texture, though at a later date I might make a pirate texture for the DP15.

EDIT 4: Corellian CR95

Here is another ship for the Rebel Alliance, the Assassin Corvette (CR92a), or as I call it the CR95. In the expanded universe it was used mainly by the Empire, however I like to think that the Empire would have went for the Tartan. Palpatine did seem to have a thing against the CEC even as Supreme Chancellor.

So my back story of this class is it was designed during the mid years of the Galactic Civil War and the CR90 which was designed during peace times wasn't selling as well as they used to. Designed with the Empire in mind the CR95 was a military version of the famous CR90 with additional armour, weapons and still retained it's predecessor's popularity for fast speed and modular design allowing for cheap and easy customization.

However Emperor favoured the Tartan design made by Damorian Manufacturing Corporation instead. Loosing the contract several examples were sold to individual Imperial Moff's who used them as their personal transports, some added them to their private forces in their systems. A number were sold to smaller planetary corporations and governments and CorSec used them extensively. Some even feel into the hands on pirates and wealthy smugglers. However the Rebel Alliance and New Republic used them the most, having always favoured the CR90, they were used to great effect in the later years of the galactic civil war and the early years of the New Republic.

Damn that Admin and his 20 attachment limit, who set that... oh it was me. :lol2:

Well since my never ending edit post has ended lets see if I can start another...

Here is my latest model and work, the Rebel Marauder, a small corvette. Empire at War had this as an artillery gunship, which is inaccurate as it was originally a small corvette with lasers. So that is what she is here, got the Corellian Gunships for the missiles.

This is probably one of my last Rebel ships I have to do. I think I only have one more I'll have to check my files. Once I have them all done, I'll send them off to Jetfreak.

I forgot about the Marauder. Always loved that design as well. What is the big flat ship? I've never seen that one before? Looks like it's missing it's upper superstructure? :)

Looks like I'll pretty much be set for models. I'm hoping to start working on porting over the old Star Wars Fleet Command mod as a stock A2 mod in FO within the next 30 days. Great looking work you've done.

Yeah a fan of the Marauder myself. As for the flat ship it's the Quasar I posted about in an above post:

You'll probably notice an uptick in your file downloads as I mass downloaded all the star wars stuff in preparation for beginning work on my next mod. In just doing the early scouting it looks like I'm only missing a Nebulon B, the couple of MC ships of the Mon Calamari, an assault frigate or two, Millennium Falcon, and assault gunboat. Any plans on doing any of these any time in the coming months if you even have them? :plan: Seriously though, just gathering info.

I have been thinking of doing a Nebulon-B, I do have an Assault frigate MK 1 and it's Dreadnought sibling that just need mapping and texturing. I have also been thinking of contacting another artist on whether I can convert his MC models over to A2. I hate organic modeling, organic mapping is even worse. So if I can get the permission I can release a fair amount of those as well.

I don't see myself doing a Millenium Falcon, if you'd like I can always convert the stock EAW model with it's textures. It's probably better than the one in SWFC.

A Nebulon-B would be fantastic if you did it. Are you aware of the Nebulon-B 2? Is that more of a fan made ship than something that appeared in the SW universe? That is another ship I'd be interested in as I liked the upside down V design wings.

I can ask around for a Falcon. It's a hero ship anyway in the original Fleet Command and may not be a critical component. The Slave 1 is a hero ship also and assigned to the Empire and I've found a decent one that I could use if I keep both those heroes.

So, as to not further hijack your thread for mod questions I started a new thread for a new mod and I'll put everything else in there.

No problem mate about the hijacking, asking questions I never see as a hijack. :D

Well I will make sure I put the Nebulon B on the to-do list after I get the other ships done.

Well I have released the CR70 (And Sundered Heart), CR90, CR95 and Marauder to the resources section.

Please don't forget to rate and comment if you download. It help motivates me to keep going, a nice way to say thank you for my hard work and a way to guarantee I will provide support for the download.

Taking a break from ships here is my latest work. It's the Imperial Turbo and Quad laser batteries aka turrets. I made these using the Xwing Alliance models Starfox sent me a year or two back and an old model I had that I revamped put them all together and gave a paint job to.

I did these to help out Rifraf, who is doing a SWFC revamp using a lot of my models. These didn't take too long to do and gave me a break from the ships. I will also be doing some more stations over the next couple of weeks. These will be released publicly as well as being included in Rifraf's mod, unless he finds something better.

I originally had glows, but felt they didn't look right and so removed them from the sod file. You can see those in the image below:

Oh turbolaser turrets...reminds me of the old Rogue Squadron days on the 64...

It would be awesome if someone remade that one with updated graphics...just sayin, in case Disney is monitoring us...

Remade the game or the turret? I did a updated turret model which is where I snagged the gun part off. Although I have rebuilt it as back then my modeling skills weren't as good. It's nice to be able to recycle some old work.

Oh, I meant the old 64 game. My system went out a while back.

Your design of the turret looks fantastic. Have you ever considered building a Golan Defense Platform? I don't know if we ever got an artistic depiction of them anywhere, but the Rogue Squadron books described them pretty well. Especially in Book 3, The Krytos Trap.

Yeah I still have that old game and the console. I loved the first Rogue Squadron, I got the 2nd and 3rd ones with a Gamecube last Christmas but to be honest they don't hold up to the original.

I haven't thought about a platfrom. Many other modelers for other game shave made them but I prefer stations and turrets. They would be neat for a campaign I suppose. The sacking of Coursant. lol
