• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Thanks, I didn't do much today. I played a bit of the Campaign, god it's horrid compared to A1. But I did make a quick station. A cruiser shipyard, based off Aad Moerman's Nemesis Yard. I plan on doing another shipyard for the battleships while keeping the one Aad did for the Sovereign and eventually the Prometheus.

I'm slowly plucking away at my personal mod. I even changed the values a bit back to reflect A1 more. It's hard playing as 8472 as I didn't change their values and I got a nasty surprise when I loaded up the campaign (I was playing the Borg campiagn). :lol2:

All of these must be released ASAP!
Yep, I'm with TF on this.

As far as releases, I didn't think they were good enough. I have been a little discouraged of late after the COE Cardassians which I put a lot more work into over these freighters. I'll have to see if I can get permissions if people really want these.

The problem with doing warships is that everyone does warships. There's a lot of variety out there so there's a lot of competition. With the Cardassians I've gone with Dans full race mod to keep a consistant feel (and so I'm up to my ears in spoonheads). I've gone mostly Aad with the federation side (aside from your Defiant and Midway and one or two others), and will probably do the same for the Romulans and Klingons. There's just not enough time in the day to try out everything!

However there aren't many stations and non-warships out there. Being your work I'm confident they'll be good quality (being based on Aads textures would be a bonus). So oddly enough I wouldn't be surprised if there were more call for them than the warships.

At least, that's how I see at it.

That shipyard is amazing... :Y I think it can compete with the FO version very nicely.

Talking about the Defiant, I have recently updated the model fixing the texture application error that CptBenSisko mentioned shortly after it's release.

I'll look into releasing a new version of it in the next few days.

Meanwhile I have done another station, found in AOW, originally from the classic Millennium Project. Station McKinney, as seen in Best of Worlds, Family and one or two other TNG episodes. As usual I have re-textured it using Aad Moerman's excellent textures and it fits in nicely with what I have.

I also re-worked Jupiter station, now pods are in, using the solar panels as the pods. I haven't done this to the other research stations but I do plan on doing so in the very near future.

I'm always interested in projects and mods where people do the unexpected or the uncommon. There are tons of GodShips available everywhere by nearly everyone. Very few people place the care and effort required into making the infrastructure or the map or the planets look as good as some award winning version of the latest Fed super cruiser. You are to be commended for "Boldly Going" where few have gone. You simply have to release all this high quality work. The Community has few top shelf stations, shipyards and the like. I for one would like to see all of these available as many places as possible, as quickly as possible. Pour encourager les autres.

Ohhh....k

Would you still have a copy before you separated the panels? Just as an option for those who won't use the Jupiter in the same cfg (like some might use it as a different class station)

Thank you all, I am hoping when I get the scaling for my Federation side right, I'll be able to get someone with 3D Max to animate the arms so when a ship is finished getting constructed the arms lift and allow the ship to leave rather than it going through the arms as it currently does.

I am using it to build such ships as the Galaxy, Nebula and eventually the Ambassador and similar styled ships. More streamlined ships such as the Sovereign and Prometheus will be built from the Nemesis yard that Aad released sometime ago.

Yes, there are three versions, one as a complete model as you have asked about, a 6 pod version and a 12 pod version.

Go see for yourself. -> Jupiter Station V2

Yes that's right, Jetfreak has been very busy with my stuff lately. :lol2:

Hehe, I needed to vent all my awesomeness somewhere anyway. I'm always happy to help you man and there's more stuff to follow as well.

Like that certain unfinished rework of a fan favorite ship. *hint hint*, that might be out soon.

Ah yes, the Defiant has been reworked and a little something extra added in. Which I have been spending a bit of today on. ;)

****, why does all the modeling tools have to be subscribed. I guess nothing needed for 3D modeling for Armada is free. XP

I guess I'll never reach your level of modding, even with my expanding imagination. At least not until 2020... :9

I thought that in 2008, I couldn't model, or apply textures only the odd kitbash and hardpointing. Now I make models from scratch.

I recommend if you want to model, or learn to get Milkshape 3D, for a some subscription to get a product key ($25US last time I checked, which was a while ago) you can use the product till the ends of time. Plus downloading the latest version of the program is free.

It takes time, as with anything in learning the tricks and tips. But the community is full of helpful people whom are more than happy to help. I would know as they have helped me over the years a great deal.

No these won't be in COE, a separate release for those whom want a nice Galor and Keldon in their installs. I may eventually re-work some of my COE ships to use this texture for my personal mod but COE will using the existing meshes and textures. :)
