• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

To everybody's massive surprise, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords has received a new official update, eleven years after its initial release. The game now includes widescreen support, 37 new achievements, support for resolutions up to 5k, support for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and other controllers, Steam Workshop support (with the Restored Content Mod available at launch), and most surprising of all, complete ports to Mac and Linux.

The updated version is available on Steam and is currently on sale for $7.49 USD.

If we're lucky, BioWare will follow suit and do the same for the first game.

I'm kind of in shock.

I must preferred the first game myself. The 2nd one was missing something and didn't have as a compelling story.

But this is great news, so many older games that are very good and really need an update. Would love if some of the older games would be given graphic overhauls like what Halo 2 got.

After downloading it, it turns out a company called Aspyr did the port instead of Obsidian so the first game may get the same update if this one is popular enough to make Aspyr think it's worth it.

EDIT: Turns out, Aspyr already ported KotOR 1 to iPad and Android so...

What was missing from the second game was half the plot. The Restored Content Mod managed to salvage almost everything that was cut, which makes the story much more coherent. LucasArts forcing a rushed release is part of the reason I wasn't too sorry to see them go.
