In case anyone was wondering I went on a variation of Deflector number 3. I widened the base of the cylindrical centre section and also slightly reduced the size of the rear blue section. So the blue backing isn't so overwhelming now.

(and I forgot to reset the render settings, that's why I put it on a background)

I hereby declare the Intrepid flight II complete. (I know, it took me long enough.)
I have a couple of weeks leave coming up, so hopefully I'll get a couple of proper renders done. And then I can put this obsession to rest...
The new windows make all the difference I think.

Well, beautiful was what I was aiming for. Thanks. It got 450 views on DA in one day!
I have two weeks leave coming, so I should get one or two pretty pictures done.

Thanks Chile.

Meanwhile... Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the evilest of them all?

I've been thinking for a while that this would make a nice Mirror Voyager. So here she is, complete with three additional torpedo launchers and six pulse cannons.

And now for something completely different. I've been wanting to do this one for a long time, and now I finally got around to it.
Clash of the titans - the DSVs seaQuest and Atlantis, now on opposing sides, face each other down over the Hemmingway Trench...

I decided it was time that my Nosferatu made an appearance, but I'm not particularly happy with the result. Thing is, I'm not sure why I'm not.
One thing I'd really like to do is a better cloaking effect, anyone have suggestions?

EDIT - added version B. This includes a changed ocean floor, the addition of the ocean surface and a few other minor tweaks. Cloaking devices work better if you can see something through the ship.

Having committed blasphemy in trying to improve both the Intrepid and the Galaxy, I decided to try my hand at another... this time the Bird of Prey is up for a post Dominion War revamp.

As before, the original is Aads model which I've been using as guidance for general dimensions etc.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'm open to ideas as I didnt start off with any particular design in mind.

This looks really good. In my personal opinion the wings are a bit too thick/wide up near the body and I feel would look better if they tapered a little better to the tips. Overall though I like.

Thanks. This is still very much a work in progress, so I'll take comments on board. The tapering towards the tips I agree with. The thick root is because I'm going to try something different - they are going to be proper nacelles built into the wing (admittedly it may not work and it probably won't be popular, but I want to see how it looks).

Whatever do you mean, STO is the best game ever. We know because the devs tell us so ;)

Anyway, updates on the new Bird of Prey. Anyone have any idea for names?

I will admit that I was a bit skeptical on the wings of your new BoP but, now that you added some detail to the nacelles, I actually kinda like it. Still not sure about the "head" but, I will wait and see.

Interesting design of the BoP. I always thought the ship lacked nacelles. I'm not sure about the bridge, looks like it has wings.

Hello:
The nacelles in the BoP will be a very nice addition and it will make much sense for the design, so I really look forward how will your design turn-out when completed :) .

Also, that is a very nice pic there, I also made a comment about it on DA :D .

And about STO? I have my doubts but I never really played... but it cannot be worse than JJ-movies (for more reasons that I can name here without hijacking the topic :D ).

The writing is pretty hit and miss and ground combat isn't very good, but the space combat is built around the Starfleet Command model.

All I play it for are the space missions. I just wish there were a bit more technical variety in the ships other than slight balance variations.

Anyway, off work ill (again!!!!) so here's a BoP update. The nose section looks a lot better with the red hoop.
