Needed to do something for unofficial Star Wars days, so....
revenge_of_the_fifth_by_darthassassin-d8sb6h8.png

Yes, there is a perfectly good reason as to why the I.S.S. ENTERPRISE-D is helping the EMPIRE shoot up the Rebel dogs, on this day, The Revenge of the FIFTH.

I trust you guys to get it.

Now I'm not a huge fan of Star Wars (burn the heretic) but I must echo Maj here, that's a nice picture well executed. Good use of colour, use of depth, your phaser glows are good, plus one for using multiple phaser arrays (and at different targets). Now if only it were a *real* imperial Galaxy class... :p

Thanks guys. The ironic thing is that this was done in a horrible rush, the positioning of the ships was probably the longest thing I spent time on, at about 15 minutes to get everything how I wanted.

@KJC, to each their own Galaxy, sir :lol2:

Now pardon me, I must enter mini-rant again. It may get loud. Like, really loud;

So now another 'friend' of mine is trying to tell me that my art isn't art again. Like the last guy, he says that anything made in a game isn't really art, but a screenshot. And unless I made ABSOLUTELY EVERY SINGLE F*CKING ITEM IN THE SHOT, THEN APPARENTLY I'M STEALING ART AND TAKING CREDIT FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S WORK.

So, I guess that means that these following works by me,

AND these works by @Jetfreak (I don't mean to step on your name man, I just need to prove something),

So by THESE guys' definitions, we're both taking credit for someone else's work in SCREENSHOTS. Despite the fact that we clearly credit all parties involved with the composition of said shots.

People sometimes. Seriously.

Well mate you tell them to come to me, as I know you use some of my models in your art and I'll set them straight for you. You credit me and that's all that is needed. You set up the scene, do the post-editing work so it is your art.

Some people indeed. Jealously is in play here I think.

What you do is art you have to set up your shot pick the background and subject and place it. It is in many ways it a great bit harder than talking a photo . In that you set it up in you mind's eye and bring it forth in to being so pay that So called "friends" no mind

These people need a slapping. It's not just what you do ISS, take a trawl through sci fi meshes. A lot of the artists there don't make their own meshes. They use someone else s, rig it and composite the image. In fact, in the SFX industry you don't get one person doing it all. You get dedicated mesh builders, texturers, compositors, etc.

Challenge them to have a go, see how "easy" it is...

Don't let him get to your head ISS, your "frienemy" may have a point, but its a terribly ham fisted one. The thing us, 3d art ain't a one man show and it is only natural to use models and stocks that are available.

Some people are just too uptight, maybe he's jealous with all the relative success you've been having with your new stuff - the improvement and effort certainly shows.

JJ-Prise is an ugly ship, they said.

It doesn't look good from any angle, they said.

Bright lights are stupid in Trek, they said.

EAT IT HARVEY, I said.

I have to admit the JJverse USS Enterprise NCC-1701 has really grown on me; I didn't like it when I saw it in the J.J. Star Trek movie at first, but I have to admit JJ Enterprise looks more Sleek then the TOS Enterprise.

This photo with this Enterprise cruising by the Space Station looks fascinating.

I may have been watching Doctor Who when I came up with the name for this one....
a_fixed_moment_by_darthassassin-d9mc1si.png

Fascinating photo of all 3 versions of the USS Enterprise from the different universes of the Federation. Nice job!

So.

You guys sick of me using the Galaxy-Class yet? I know I am. (Maj shush pls)

But I rewatched Q Who for no good reason the other day. And then I had to do this.

system_j_25_by_darthassassin-d962gf3.png

I'm not sorry.

Nice photo of the NCC-1701-D taking on the Borg courtesy of "Q". Sadly the USS Enterprise-D was never designed to take on the Borg. Would love to see a photo like this with the USS Enterprise-E taking on the Borg.

Good thing the Federation learned from this incident and build next generation ships to take on the Borg.....Defiant Class, Sovereign Class, Akira Class, Steamrunner Class and the Prometheus Class.

Thanks guys...

Trying minimalistic editing on this one, only stitched the BG together from places

Wow.....Another beautifully done photo with 3 Graceful and Sleek Federation Starships. The back ground of Earth with city lights being seeing from outer space on the continent of North America is equally fascinating.

Decided to redo an old shot that was looking REALLY old against my newer stuff. So without further ado...

Legacy of the USS Enterprise lives on in Federation history from NX-01 to NCC-1701-E. Each Starship that was given the name USS Enterprise has a unique design from each of there perspective Starship classes.

This is a excellent photo of all the USS Enterprise's!

This is definitely art, seeing the Federation and there Fleet of Starships at there finest, there is nothing more beautiful then that. Nice Job!

So... I finally... finally snapped and decided goodbye for renders, Armada 2. It has given me many great years and has given me a fantastic platform to learn art. But now it's time to really start doing renders.

As he has been doing for years now, Jetfreak has inspired me to move onto 3Ds Max for renders, so I am in the process of slowly learning it, as shown below. Boy, this is gonna suck, but be amazing.

Nothing worth doing is ever truly easy I.S.S. ,but what comes from it is always worth the effort be it the final product or the experience and lessons learned in the doing .

To put things into perspective, it took me over a year just to get a decent feel for Max. I used to easily get flustered with Max's intimating interface and having a not so good PC was a real pain. So it was really trial and error for the most part.

But its always good to try new things, looking forward to your new stuff partner. ;)

We all move on, eventually. Sad but true, and it's good to keep growing and improving. If that means saying goodbye to A2, then so be it. I hope to see some cool stuff from you eventually! :)
