• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Bit of a rant here. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed a change in ads/commercials online in about the last 3-4 weeks? The volume on ads has always been set at about 50% it seemed and always sounded fine when they came on, but lately at that same 50% all ads are blaring loud now and I have to hurry to turn them down. Plus it seems that only about the last 5% of the volume slider in the online ad actually has any affect now. Not fun when others are sleeping in the house.

That is when you even have the option to stop them from playing. Half the time they're blocked so you feel like a prisoner forced to watch them. So now instead of having to endure the relentless visual assaults of ads nobody wants to see we now have to deal with aural assaults too. Ads/commercials are absolutely out of control in this country. Do other members see this here/in their countries as well?

It's reached such a disgusting point that they cut ads in half to cram in more ads. It wouldn't necessarily be so hard to endure if every ad was new and fresh, but they play the same stupid ads over and over.

I know perception plays into it, but growing up it seemed like you'd get about 20-25 minutes of tv show for every 30. Now it's more like 15-20 minutes of show. Just stop already. Thank you for reading. Now please enjoy this add from our sponsors (puts fist through monitor) :)

Plus one for Adblock Plus, it works great!!! Only problem is that sometimes when the browser updates it may need to be deactivated then reactivated again - but that may be a Palemoon idiosyncrasy.
