If You Could Command a Federation (Trek) Ship What Would It Be?

If you could command a 24th century Star Trek Starfleet ship which would it be?

Thought this might be fun, we're due for a new poll.

If you have more than one, pick your favourite or what you feel like at the time. Also post your reasons why so we can get some idea why you want a particular ship over another.

Steamrunner class hands down.

It's not a pure fighting ship and not a giant so you'd have to deal with loads of diplomacy.
Not solely based on research or exploration. Just a plain simple no-nonsense vessel just the way i like it.

Akira-Class, hands down. Have always loved the design and its capabilities. It's essentially one of the Federation's new workhorses, so you'd get plenty of use. Well-armed and defended, and it's got the hangar space to serve as a small carrier. Heck yes...

Hello:
The Nebula class. That ship has always been a favourite of mine, since the first time that I saw it.

It is a big modern ship, but not as giant and not having the ominous almost-arrogant look the Galaxy Class can have at times. This one looks like it can still be a flagship and to handle most missions with ease but in it's more compact scale and great design that always made me love it much more than I love the Galaxy Class.

The workhorse status is why i chose the Steamrunner. The Akira is a little too combat orientated for my liking. The Akira is a more recent design than the Steamrunner and i like the bit of the challenge of not having a top of the line vessel.

The Akira is a good ship, but not my choice.

Always did like the Intrepid. A modern design that harks back to an era of mid-sized cruisers with well rounded mission capabilities. It's rather fast too.

I really really love the Galaxy, but I had to vote for the New Orleans. It's such a cool ship...

Galaxy Class MkII USS Venture. Thats my command. She was 1st of the MKIIs and fought with distiction during bothe the Klingon cnflict and later Domminion War. She has 3 Battle stars and is currently on a deep range survey and exploration mission in the regions to the South and west of Cardssinan space:thumbsup:

Intrepid class for me, I feel in love with the design when I first saw her docked at DS9 back in the mid 90's. It was the only non-Roddenberry approved design that had the grace of the Conny, Excelsior and Galaxy and no matter what angle you look at her from she is still a beauty.

The Excelsior, and Pyotr Veliky originate from the 23rd hence they are not on the list. I tried to list the main canon designs for the poll.

Probably have to go with the Akira, been one of my faves since I first saw it. Sweet design, heavy torpedo power, and not to bulky (though do correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not overly genius with all things trek XP)

Feh, Galaxy-Class all the way. One of THE best well-rounded starships. She can hold her own in a fight, and is an amazing exploration cruiser.

Hm, for a canon ship I'd go for any of Defiant, Intrepid, or Sovereign. But for non-canon I'd pick Century over anything; the grace and sleekness of the Intrepid plus the power of a Galaxy plus a dash of Sovereign, how can you beat it? :D
(Go look it up on BC Files if you're unfamiliar with it).

Sovereign. I have always loved the design of this ship from the very moment I saw her for the first time. :D

Hello:
Well, I did pick a Nebula class as it is my all-time favourite, but another pick for me would be a ship that is not even in the poll as an option and that is the fabulous Nova class. I love it's design and mission profile of been surveyor but been good-looking enough as you can relate it to the Intrepid and Soveregin classes as in good tech.

Norway is a good ship too and if you are the only one to pick it, then that means you have no competition to choose one :lol2:.

Defiant for me, all that firepower in such a small package...a pure warship that gets up close and personal before blowing ya away:. No room for proper diplomacy to complicate things, comply or die

All time fav tho is the Prometheus class, that ship's MVAM can devastate a Battleship pretty quick or take out afew Defiants.....maybe even both . Pretty obvious what i look for in a ship lol
