If they made Knights of the Old Republic into a movie, who would you cast?

If they made Knights of the Old Republic into a movie, who would you cast in each role?

Revan: Easy one, Matt Damon. He has the experience playing someone who lost his memory with special abilities and no idea how he got them. Plus he looks kinda like one of the male revan heads available in the game lol. KOTOR is basically the Star Wars version of Bourne Identity anyway lol.

Malak: harder to cast - I'd have to go with Vin Diesel, even though he's completely wrong for a star wars role, purely based on build. His experience as Riddick may help in the role though. One of my friends suggested Kevin Spacey cos hes good at being a villain, an looks good bald. although after his Lex Luthor i'm not so sure.

Jolee Bindo: Morgan Freeman - he has the experience playin wise old guys in Shawshank and Batman Begins, and he's played God lol. There are certain moments in Batman where he reminds me of Jolee (particularly when he tells Bruce that its fine not to tell him what hes up to, then he can deny knowing, but not to think of him as an idiot)

Canderous Ordo: Open to suggestions, I cant think of anyone that quite fits lol

Bastila Shan: the sultry charms of Eliza Dushku. Or Missy Peregrym

Juhani: Raelee Hill from Farscape

Carth Onasi: David Boreanz - he's excellent in Bones and was pretty good in Angel too (although better as the soul-less Angelus)

Mission Vao: Open to suggestions. I cant think of any one that annoying to put in the role of some one that annoying.

An interesting question. I would love a new Trilogy based on KotOR 1, though it doesn't fit into the movie continuity too well.

Revan: Matt is an awesome actor, I wouldn't be opposed to him filling the shoes of Revan. Depending on how old the character would be; I'm completely hooked on a show called Supernatural and Jensen Ackels who plays Dean is a jack of all trades; he's hilarious at times, intense in others and the way he romances girls reminds me of the Bastila flirt packs. I guess I'd pick him for a late 20s Revan. Though I'm cool with your choice HighGuard.

Malak: Vin might be able to pull off the Malak role, if he became more grounded and took things seriously like when he was in Saving Private Ryan. He has the build for it that's for sure. If I could hop a time machine to 1984 I'd select Clancy Brown fresh off playing Kurgan in the original Highlander movie, but he'd be too old now probably. Jason Statham (The Transporter) and Arnold Vosloo (The Mummy) might have brought something here also but they're not the right build. I guess I have to endorse your candidate because I can't think of a better one; so Vin has my vote.

Jolee: If he hadn't already played Mace Windu, I'd pick Sam Jackson of course...*I'm tired of all these mother****** Sith in this mother**** galaxy*. I'd probably go with Morpheus, ie. Laurence Fishbourne. Wise and can kick arse.

Canderous Ordo: Clive Owen seems to be able to pull off the shoot em up role quite nicely, he certainly has the range for a deeper Canderous than a simple walking tank. The Punisher himself, Thomas Jane could be a lethal Canderous, I'd love to see him in the role.

Bastila Shan: Don't know why but Rachel Weisz from the Mummy always reminded me of Bastila, I always thought she'd be great for the role. Others have suggested Kate Beckinsale, hmm maybe. Of course no complaints about yummy Eliza Dushku, save for not having the accent.

Carth Onasi: I'd go with Nathan Fillion, Cpt. Malcolm Reynolds of Firefly/Serenity. Although I admit that his personality would probably fit better with Atton Rand of K2. Since I don't want a K2 though, I'd mix Atton with Carth so he wasn't so depressed all the time and had a little more range. Makes him a Han Solo with a deeper storyline, though that also is pretty much the same description I'd give Mal.

Juhani: The cat in the sticker of 'Hello Kitty'...I don't know. Ralee Hill was Sikozu? I guess she could pull of the feline like moves. I just wish they overhauled Jihani's appearance, she's the only character in K1 I didn't like.

Mission Vao: A less annoying Mission could be Ellen Page (Kitty Pride from the train wreck X3) or even Anna Pacquin (Rogue). Heh even Amanda Bynes (She's the Man) could play Mission, she did the voice of Robin Williams little sister in Robots and her character sort off reminded me of Mission.

Zhaalbar: Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) still can do it or get the guy who did Tarfolk (Sp?) in Ep.3.

HK-47: Kristoffer Tabori who did the voice in the games...this one is a must have.

Those are my picks.

Muad'Dib, just a friendly reminder to watch what you put in your post. I'm not sure if you put the "*" or if the site did but even with them it is understood what is in there. It is possible to post quotes without giving any hint to inappropriate words. Thanks. -Crazyfrog1903

I discounted Zaalbar and HK lol - u can have anyone in the suit for Zaalbar and add in wookie noises and as u say, HK's voice can be provided by Tabori, much like Cullen reprising Prime for Transformers lol.

I can see the girl that was Kitty Pryde in X3 being mission lol. I must admit, i'd forgotten about Nathan Fillion - admittedly i've only seen him as Caleb in buffy and that film... slither?
But I think your right, he'd make a great Carth lol

Yes Raelee Hill was Sikozu. it was her or Laura Bertram (Trance) lol.

Jason would make a great Malak thinking about it, he'd just need to bulk his upper body up a little more

I like your choice for Jolee, that would be interesting.

Not so sure about Canderous, i did consider Clive lol, but I 've only seen him in Sin City and Arthur. And Bourne Identity but he really didnt do much except show up, get shot, and tell Bourne where he came from then die. and in SC and Arthur, he wasnt all that great, i didnt rate him much lol. but maybe i havent seen him in the right films.

As for Bastila, I still like Eliza lol, but as you say she doesnt have the accent. Which was why i also suggested Missy Peregrym based on her brief role in Smallville and to a lesser extent her role in Heroes.

Still interesting choices, I like.

I put the *** actually, I have no idea what the site would put if the real words had been written.

It was intentional to have it be hinted what the word is as it is a parody of the original phrase, though I didn't write the words themselves since I know better.

Is the hinting towards the words prohibited too? I thought it was just writing them specifically. If this is the case, I will modify my original post to remove the entire quote.

lol, cool, who would you cast in each role? excluding the droids and the wookie, cos u can just have the original guys do the V/O work and have anyone in the suits.

Not that I've got a problem with anyone else's idea's but here's my suggestions -

Revan - Brendan Frasier, simply a brilliant choice for something like this. Could add some comedy to the mix also.

Malak - Stereotypical bad guy, hard one this. I'd probably have to say either Sean Bean or Patrick Stewart. Both have that calm voice that would seem to fit Malak perfectly

Carth - Keanu Reeves, simple and plain as that.

Canderous - Arnold Schwarzenegger hands down. Who else could possibly look like a pure-bred warrior?

Mission - I'm gonna have to be British and say Chloë Annet. After hearing and seeing her in Red Dwarf I can't think of anyone capable of wining much more.

Bastila - I'm gonna agree with Maud'dib here and say Rachel Weisz. The character she portrayed in the mummy makes an excellent base for Bastila.

Jolee Bindo - Lawrence Fishbourne, who else could fill the role of mentor in how the mind controls more than any limb?

Juhani - I'd probably say Mira Furlan for the accent as well as the fact that she's used to wearing prosthetics on her head.

Special Cameos - Armin Shimmerman as Trask Ulgo, Samuel L. Jackson as Gadon Thek, John Cleese as Master Vrook and David Jason as Davik Kang.

Special effects have got to be done by ILM, and the director would have to be either George Lucas or Micheal Bay

Just my thoughts, although I can imagine the script writers playing KOTOR for three months solid to get access to every bit of dialogue and area.

Certainly some interesting choices - though I think Brendan Fraser might be a better choice for Carth than Revan.
I like the Armin cameo idea, that'd be good. he's a very versatile actor, and good in a variety of roles.
Arnold may actually be a good choice for Canderous - Canderous strikes me as being around Arnies age - certainly he's not a young man anyway.
Lawrence is a good choice for Jolee.
Gotta agree on the whining as far as Chloe Annet goes in red dwarf lol. though she may be a little old for Mission lol.

You'll have to refresh my memory though - Mira Furlan - she was from B5 right? sounds vaguely familiar anyway...

Yep, she played Delenn in all five seasons.

I though of switching Revan and Carth, but then though that Revan seemed at times to make light-hearted comments about everything and had a deadpan humour. Carth was a bit like Neo in the Matrix, takes everything seriously and doesn't like jokes too much.

Don't forget that mission would probably these days be CGI so only the voice would be needed, the make-up would hide her age anyway if it was done using older techniques

Aaah now i know who you mean. I never really got into B5, though i saw bits of the shadow war, and the season with Sheridan as president and delenn as his wife, but i just couldnt get into it.

Though thinking about it, the guy who played Garibaldi (him i remember) would make a good Canderous or Malak as well.

I dont think Mission would be CGI - she's the same species as Aayla Secura after all, and she wasnt done with CGI

Hmm, I pretty much agree with all the suggestions so far, only thing I'd change is perhaps Sean Connery for Jolee Bindo, it could work... could...

To revive this thread, anyone have suggestions for KotOR2 castings?

Visas Marr: Kelly Hu - shes certainly exotic looking enough, and she did the voice for the game lol. so she'd perfectly.

the Exile: well, in canon, shes female, so Sienna Guillory (Jill Valentine from resident evil)

Mandalore/Canderous Ordo: Karl Urban

Bao-Dur - Lawrence Fishbourne

Atton Rand - Ryan Reynolds

HK-47/HK-50 - Kristoffer Tabori

Mira - Jessica Biel?

Mical: whiny librarian type. open to suggestions lol (in what is considered canon, mical joins the crew, instead of Breanna, who joins if the Exile is male)

Kreia/Darth Traya: again, open to suggestions...

I'd agree with all of them, but a couple of suggestions;

Kreia - Helen Mirren, she's 'mature' and has the sort of voice suitable for a mentor/evil bad person

Mical - Tobey Maguire...

Atton Rand - Joe Flannigan (the bloke that plays Shepperd in Atlantis)

Like the way that Lawrence Fishbourne would be Bao-Dur.

Cameos -
Patrick Stewart - GO-TO droid; I know people would want the original voice actors; but wouldn't it be good to have him as head of a crime syndicate?

Micheal Palin - The old soldier on Nar Shadaa

Haven't played KOTOR II in a while, so can't think of any other roles at the moment.

I can't remember her name, but the only person that comes to mind is the gal from the Resident Evil movies, and even then that's a stretch for me...

If its the girl thats been in all 3, then its Milla Jovovich.

Already suggested Sienna (Jill Valentine in resident 2 film) as the exile, so i assume u dont mean her.

Failing that, theres Michelle Rodriguez (Raine in the first film) or Ali Larter (Clare Redfield from 3rd film, Nikki in Heroes)

i dunno. tbh, i dont rate her that much as an actress. though i think im biased cos i hated fifth element lol. shes certainly better in the resident evil films, but theyre action films, so not much of a stretch.

what about keira knightly lol. shes already played a bounty hunter in domino lol

Actually I could see her working perhaps better than anyone else :p Haven't seen Domino yet though. *makes note to rent*

One person I was thinking of though for Mandalore/Canderous Ordo... Bruce Willis. :p

ROFL, I'm would actually suggest Richard Dean Anderson for Atton if he were younger, or Atton were older... :)
