• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Well, i guess right now i'm the newst member, so in short word : hello to everybody, i hope i will make new friends, and i'm a big fan of sci-fi ( literature, movies, cartoons ... everything ). My fav sci-fi universe - Dune. I'm a big fan of Star Trek and Star Wars ( yes it is possible, though lately alot of people go against this blasphemy ). I'll see you arround.

Welcome to the site. I hope you enjoy your stay. Dune you say? I still got a copy of Dune 2000 and Dune 2. LOL. They are free now days. I too like both Star Trek and Star Wars. never read more than the first book of dune... sorta got pee'd off with the whole 'destined-chosen' one thing and HIS ego... but used to enjoy the games :)

Actually the Dune saga is not about the chosen one and crap like that. Yes the first 3 books do have a main character with superhuman abillites, but it's more of a filosoplycal view over human kind and all of its stupidity. After you read it, you might even start to understand how less religion is about helping people and how much its about power, how our animal instincts can direct our specie to self-destruction and how it is always a need for an iron-hand to direct the human 'animals' to a better road ( in the books it's called the 'golden path' ). What i've said now its only 0.1 of the greatness of this books. From my point of view it is the most original and complex sci-fi universe ever, but in order to understand it you must read the whole saga of books, Frank Herberts's ones and his son ones. It's alot of reading ( about 13 books ). As for the games ... I enjoyed them as a game but they are the worst book to game makeover ever ( house ordos never existed, the sardukars represent the military power of house corrino wich never was a playble side in the games, and bouth ix and theilaxu made me laugh my *** out when i played emperor ). My advice ... read the books, don't judge the universe by the games made after it ... they have almost nothing in cummon except a few names.
