Thank you, I'm not all up on physic files but I am hoping I'll be able to get the heavy turret to move right.

As far as FRAPS, I'll give your way a shot and see how it goes. Thanks for that.

Thanks Thunderfoot, it worked well apart from the sound. Once my new internet month starts I'll upload the video I made and post it here for you all to see. :)

The Gul Vystan Patrol Ship is here, based loosely off the stock model with my own touches. She's the big sister to the Hikedi.

I have Dan1025's Cardies currently installed. But these look very, very good. I like the textures and the coloring of these. They have this air about them which makes them look workman-like. So many textures on A2 custom ships are done as if the ship is fresh from the shipyard. These make for an interesting change of pace from the usual. IMO, different is good!

Thank you guys, here we have the latest. The Kaldor Gunship. This little beauty is only 671 pollies and was a hassle to get done. It look me well over 4 hours to complete and was almost a total rebuild.

She's size wise about the size of a Norin. Gunships in COE are torpedo ships and while very powerful are not the quickest of ships nor the strongest. They are also vulnerable alone as their beam weapons are sorely lacking.

I agree - your models are always so clean... like barely a wasted poly annywhere...

In fact, you could probably make one of those guys above from the wasted / unecessary polies from my CCS class alone

quality work as always mate...

Thank you, I try to bring the best quality at the lowest poly count. It's something Syf has taught me over the years. Basically all my modelling tricks Syf has taught me, I'm his unofficial apprentice when it comes to modelling.

Yes I clean up all the models as I re-texture them, so the models have little to no hidden pollies or reversed faces or any of that. This mod like Yesteryears will be playable by anyone how can run A2 stock pretty much.

Clash of Empires, while taking advantage of the many outstanding models done throughout the community the last few years, has in itself a select few models built entirely for the project. These models are build from scratch by Syf.

I was going to keep these all secret but have decided to show off a sneak peak at one of the models:

[fieldset=Lakat Class Cruiser]Here we have the Lakat class Cruiser, filling a light cruiser role the Lakat is a very old design, older than the Tonga, and is roughly on par with the Federation Excelsior class. At her time of deployment she was a revolutionary design incorporating many elements in ship design still being used today.

She was scheduled for a full class wide decommissioning in 2372, but the destabilisation and overthrow of the Central Command by the Depta Council and even more so the unexpected Klingon Invasion of the Union halted plans for the Lakat's retirement. Further more Cardassia decided to bring the class up to more modern specifications when Cardassia's military forces started to dwindle thanks to the combined efforts of both the Klingon Empire and Maquis Outlaws.

After Cardassia's entry into the Dominion, the Lakat was downgraded to a system defence role deep within Dominion Occupied Cardassian space, a role that the Lakat's did well but saw little action apart from the casual Klingon raiding party of Bird of Prey's. By the time the end of the war came around very few remained in service and the few that did were actually destroyed/disabled by the Federation Alliance's push into Dominion territory in 2376.

With Cardassia gaining it's freedom from Dominion Occupation, the Union started to rebuild and several disabled but not destroyed Lakat's were some of the first vessels brought back to life. Even till this day Lakat's are seen throughout Cardassian space, however due to their age they are far and few between and are becoming even more rare thanks to new and more advanced designs being commissioned and fielded by the Central Command.[/fieldset]

Now for the images:

As do I!

Oh, wait a minute... I made the model. But, Maj forgot to mention he is responsible for textures. He did half the work on that model, and all the others I sent him.

Oh, and that one's just a single sample... just wait until you see the rest.:p

You did the hard part Syf.

Well it has been sometime, I have been rather pre-occupied with the PRP to even look at this. However once I get the few remaining ships I am working on out I plan to get back to this, finish it off and release it.

This mod, the Cardassian side is on the home stretch run in regards to models and I already have a bit of coding in with not an overly great amount to finish. So with any sort of luck I may have this done for Christmas if not it's a 2010 opening mod.

After recent events I have decided that I will only be doing the Cardassian side of this modification. I am feeling it is time for me to move onto other things as Armada doesn't hold for me the same interest as it used to. So due to this I plan to finish up this mod with the Cardassians only.

Everything else I have I'll see about releasing to the community at a later stage.

First update in quite sometime.

I have yesterday re-done all the material settings for the ships, so the lightmaps will work correctly for them when in the dark. It was a tedious process but in the end a worthwhile one.

I have also today finished off the modelling for the Cardassian research stations, all 5 stations are now complete and there are some pictures below for your viewing pleasure.

I now only have the Cardassian shipyards left to complete then station wise they are very much complete. Also only a handful of ships are needing completing. Some of which are being pulled from Yesteryears, as it's very unlikely that the Cardassians will make an appearance in YY now, however much of their modelling on the ship front was complete.

As usual, comments, suggestions, opinions bring them to me... problems? Talk to Lieutenant Kes.
*Star Trek modified quote my me there, lets see if anyone can guess what series and episode it's from.*

Thanks Ryderstorm, I am glad I am having a positive effect on you in regards to the Cardassians. I think you've been the COE biggest follower to date. :)

Tonight I was able to hardpoint and/or re-export the following:

  • Plasma Turret
  • Torpedo Turret
  • Sensor Station
  • Mining Station
  • Central Command Headquarters Research Station
  • Starbase
  • Advanced Central Command R&D Research Station

They all have adjusted material settings for the lightmaps.

Hopefully over the next week I can get all the station models hardpointed and in-game as well as a good chunk of the ships. As well as complete what is left for the modelling. Then it's the hard part, the coding.

All stations apart from the shipyard and boarder outpost are now in-game.

Here is a collage of some of the research stations.

These are really some great models, sporting some nice variations here and there. They all happen to fit very nicely ingame. Would complement Dan's quite stations well.

Thank you both, I am trying my hardest to stay away from the DS9 feel of stations, mainly due to two reasons, the first being is that Deep Space Nine is old (as stated in the series) and with the newer Cardassian station designs seen in the last season of DS9, I wanted to follow that feel more. The second is Dan utilised the DS9 feel a lot in his Cardassian race and I wanted COE to not feel like a re-work of Dan's excellent efforts but an equal alternative to his Cardassians.

That and I wanted to Majesticized the Cardassians a bit to fit more to how I envisioned them to be.

They look good Majestic and I understand why you want to stay away from making them too DS9.

I think I would have still done DS9 colours for the textures though but that doesn't detract from the good work you've done.

Well the colours are the main thing I really didn't want to use.

I always like to have the stations a similar colour shade to the vessels, to show a construction with the same materials and what not.

Oh and here is something I thought you might all like to see. Considering I am still suffering from this nasty flu I decided to sit down and do a bit of work on COE, mainly coding but I did manage to get some more units into the game.

Here we have the new Cardassian fighter, a rework on the Cardassian workbee seen in the series of DS9, when Kira and co go to the Cardassian station to steal a Jem'Hadar Attack ship that has Breen goodies on board. The same model was also used as an alien fighter in Voyager in that episode with the race that Tom and B'Elanna went in with the Delta Flyer.

The model is by Syf and with his usual awesomeness modelling he has brought it to life for Armada 2.

Do I hear a "By your command!" phrase. :lol2:
