• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I've been working on a side project for some time now, and I wonder if anyone is interested in working with me.

Most Fleet Operations ship stats cannot be directly modified, but I've created a tool for this which I use in my own modding. In order to use this tool for regular Flops, the ship database just needs to be filled out. This is mostly looking up values in the odfs and hand-jamming them into an excel spreadsheet. Anyone interested?

That does sound pretty useful. Would it work on stuff other than FO's ODF archive thing?

Probably? It spits out text files which you then put into the archive. Technically the generator is already complete and producing right now, but you have to build the database of ship stats.

It operates in parts: there's a hitpoint generator for ship files, a generator for weapon ordinance, a generator for special weapons, and a part that updates the tooltip file. I'm probably going to add a build cost section at some point, so you just update the values in the spreadsheet and it writes them to the text files.

Hmm...unfortunately, I've come across a passive that can't be perfectly recreated by the generator.
The officer Veqlaragh's weapons deal a percent of the target's hitpoints, added onto its normal damage. My generator only multiplies :D
