• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Hi Everyone,

I'm just posting some pictures of my content that was created for Dawn of War.
I never had anything to the point of 100% playable (The Klingons were all but done but did not have an AI).

I will be posting some pictures of some of the content I've made; I'm thinking some of it can be used by others for upcoming mods; however if anyone is looking for any specific models, ships, etc. please feel free to reach out to me. I'll do my best to accommodate.

I don't mind people editing, releasing, etc. so long as the appropriate credit is provided.

Some more Klingon Content.
One of my favorite ships is the Stinger; it's one of the last ships I added to the faction and I think one of the best looking.

Also posting some of my later Fed content (Ajax & Daedalus which were all previously released) as well as the Achillies class which is a Conny based light cruiser; slightly more compact than the Conny

Hey guys; I did a simple drag and drop of my Klingon TOS race into FO - Classic Mod (Anyone know where to find the Super Classic?); and for some reason my GUI and everything is simply white and the game is slightly choppy. This used to work on a Fresh A2 Install; does anyone have any feedback?

Well, I got it working!! Wow is it ever nice to see everything this close up and ingame again. I wish I knew how to do an AI I would love for it to be completely workable. However I thinjk I'm still going to upload this to resources as you can drag it into classic as a standalone race and just play :)

I have an absolute blast and can't wait to play some more, and do a couple of ships (and requests :) ).

I'm loving seeing the detail in the D7; I thrilled that some of this stuff still looks great today. The Gull that Skeeter & I collaborated on looks devastating and brilliant all of these years later!

The missiles still manage to look pretty cool on the older ships!

Hi Fireball. Your stuff looks great and I'm glad you got your mod up and running! As for your being unsure about AI's I would say just go for it. If you can make models, textures, and mod it all into game you can do a simple AI. The Big Book of Modding is worth a download. It has a chapter on AI's that is well done. It goes over how to make just a simple AI like in FO or you can go full on nuts like I did.

If you just want something that well make the computer play just copy and paste a AI in from A2. Then all you need to do is substitute your ship and station odf names into it. Hopes this helps and good luck!

is that firing missles that use a sprite texture? or do they use an .sod mesh? Id love some decent missle texture/sprites for the TMP mod..

As Hath stated are you looking for build lists so the computer can build through and give you enemies to shoot or are you looking for AI personality files? The way the AI evaluates threats and such?

More than anything I'd like the race as a whole to be functional whether played by a player or NPC.
The missiles use SOD's and a sprite for the rocket trail Captain.

I'll be sure to download the modders toolbox.

I have a D7 you released way back in 2011, yep. It's still available through the A2Files archive (armadafiles.com), I think.

More than anything I'd like the race as a whole to be functional whether played by a player or NPC.
Writing a build list isn't hard. It mostly takes a bit of thinking to decide what your AI should prioritize building, and making sure there's no accidental dead end in the build list (such as telling the AI to build something from a yard that it hasn't built yet). The build list format is pretty simple - Westworld's venerable Big Book of Modding explains it pretty well. Testing one is relatively easy as well, there's an AI debug mode in the game that will allow you to see at what stage in the build list the AI is.
Personality files, on the other hand, are a bit tricky and it's not really required to make your own in order to have a working AI to play against. They can be fun to play around with, though, if you're trying to tweak the behavior of your AI.

Thanks for all of the resources!
Okay - Glad I did release the D7 lol; I think it's one of my highest quality textures (Ironically looking at the original PSD files moat of the detail is blurred or relatively light to match the era lol)

I'd like to shove that one into sins of a solar empire one day with normal maps, speculars, etc.

I'm still looking for the bloody max version of the D7! I hope I can find it.
The beauty is I will upload the PSD textures so you can change the base colour, bolden the detail (like I said there's a lot more detail in the texture than shows necessarily).

Case and point attached. This is with the details darkened and the texture bevels/extrusions removed (As it would obviously look better with bump/normal maps as opposed to bake in the texture like my released version).

True that, no rush to find em' but I can already imagine the leap in the model appearance with the proper texturing! Sorta like a TOS-enhanced visual.

Oh Yeah, Because the detail is there as you can see in the picture I attached.
It would be very easy to make it all pop when you get the individual layers of the textures!
