Earthquake North of Chile

Hello:
Well, as you just read, last night at 20:46 (-3 GMT) my city Arica and the neighrbor city of Iquique were struck by an earthquake 8.2 in the Richter scale that created tsunamis that mostly affected Iquique flooding part of the city.

Thank god me and my family were in safer places and we are all ok.

Great to hear you and your family are safe mate. Chile has had more than it's fair share of quakes recently, much like New Zealand had a number of years back.

Hello:
As you may know, there was a 7.6 Richter earthquake a couple of days ago (just one day after the big one). Some say it was a big aftershock while others say is a separate event. Nevertheless, aftershocks are still coming but they have been soft in my city. Some health-related wwarnings have been declared because of the interruptions of water. Classes would not restart until qualified people check and recheck every school.

I'll try to keep you all posted.

Glad to hear you're doing well and haven't been too affected by all this. I hope your country gets through this ok and doesn't have any long lasting effects from this natural disaster.
