• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

So, does anyone here play Dust 514? I'm considering making an MSFC corporation if anyone else plays.

It's a free and free to play MMO/FPS/RPG thing for the PS3 on PSN, spun off of Eve Online.

You start off with an unlimited number of basic suit/weapon/module combos and play matches to earn ISK (money) and SP (experience). You spend ISK on better gear and SP on improving skills. The better the gear, the higher the skill requirement. Skills also improve how well you use a particular type of weapon, module, or suit so it's worth spending SP even if you can't afford more advanced gear yet. If you die and somebody doesn't revive you, you'll have to spend ISK to replace your suit and the accompanying weapons and modules. You do average enough ISK per match to buy several fully outfitted suits, though, and you have an unlimited number of the starter suits to fall back on. There are also vehicles that are equipped the same way as suits, but I haven't messed with those.

There is also Aurum, or AUR, which is gained with real money. Items that cost AUR have lower skill requirements than ISK items so you can get them earlier, but everything except SP boosters and cosmetic items have ISK versions so you can't simply pay-to-win. Also, if two players with the same loadouts, but one using the ISK versions and the other using the AUR versions, go head to head, the ISK player generally has an edge due to usually having invested more SP in their skills.

Corporations are basically guilds and can battle each other for territory, but I'm not sure about the specifics.

The game is also really pretty.

It does look really good, and different from the normal, however I don't own a Playstation, I'm an Xbox player. :lol2:
