• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Disney-Marvel and Sony are partnering up...

I'm worried that with this Flood of Super hero movies is that we're going to get burned out on them and they all just be clones of each other produced to just sell toys.

Indeed, I've got the same concern. Hopefully though, they'll keep enough good writers involved in the projects to prevent that from happening. They've certainly had no shortage of talent lining up to act in them.

Fair concerns indeed. From what I have read though, it seems that they have an overall story plan for all these movies that will interconnect them. If done right, they could do really well.

It's an eventual burnout of Star Wars movies that I'm concerned about. Isn't Disney planning one a year, with side movies in between the main trilogy films?

I think they need to focus on quality over quantity

To me it look like they are going to just carpet bomb the theaters with these films in the hopes of a massive cash grab

So will that be a remake, cos they just did a remake... my brain hurts...

Please for the love of God, an original idea please! Just one, even a small one.

And yes, 7(!!!) Star Wars films in the pipeline according to my sister, she's hoping that it will open up a few slots for VFX people.

It's in Post-production with a Release Date: 18 December 2015 (USA)

This is great news to see Spider-man teaming up with the Avenger characters.

I was originally concerned about all the super hero movies but they have remained strong movies, solid quality something that DC Comics hasn't been able to keep up with. In fact I think the Marvel movies are getting better and better, even Sony has seemed to improve the X-men franchise (although I wish they'd go back to the original cast rather than the younger versions).

The next few years will prove interesting for movies, both Marvel and the aforementioned Star Wars.

So Andrew Garfield won't be playing Peter again, that is a little disappointing I was really starting to like him. So it's being rebooted yet again, I hope it's the last time they reboot Spider-man.

I agree Majestic. It would be interesting if they could still work out a deal to keep Garfield. Only time will tell how this will work out.

Wasn't the issue something about him badmouthing Sony after Amazing Spiderman 2 was released?

I'd hate to see if fully rebooted again with yet another actor.

I hadn't heard of that.

You know, I occasionally hear good things mentioned about the X-Men prequels, but the last one I saw was 3 and it was just so horrible that I'm still having a hard time bringing myself to watch them. Are they actually good and not just good in comparison? Should I try harder?

I'd say give them a shot mate. Some of them are pretty good. X-men Origins Wolverine, First Class and Futures of Days Past are all good movies.

Wow, I'm a bit blindsided by these turn of events. But I can definitely see the benefit from a creative standpoint. I just hope its not a retread of same old, same old! I mean how many times does Uncle Ben have to be shot?

I agree Jet. It would be refreshing if Marvel just continued what Soney already started. I suppose that would be too restrictive though.

At the rate they're rebooting the series, they may want to invest in a gatling gun.

Some people are saying that they should use the new Spiderman - Miles Morales - in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, not Peter Parker.

To me Spider-man has always been Peter Parker, most people who don't read the comics would probably say the same. Putting someone else in as Spider-man would do more harm than good. It's going to be hard enough for the writers to come up with an origin story that doesn't feel like a carbon copy of the last two attempts.

I would prefer to see Spider-man as Peter, new actor or not. It doesn't matter, as long as it's Peter. Anything less and I might not even bother watching it, and that's coming from me who has had Spider-man as his favourite super-hero since he was a kid.
