• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I am using Vista x64 and let's say you click start then double click on computer then double click your harddrive and it pulls up all the folders etc....Mine keeps changing the folder view on some sub folders so I change it back and go out, but when I go back in they are all resized again.

I can't for the life of me figure out why it keeps doing this by itself. I can't find any viruses or anything so not sure why it does it? It also takes away my drop down boxes in each folder like type, size, date modified etc....and just leaves the name box

Have you tried using the option to force all your folders to one particular type/view? I don;t run Vista anymore but I think it's somewhere in the folder options possibly. I remember the option being in Vista somewhere, I think XP had it as well.

Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Folder Options.

Gift for you:

Awesome, thanks for the links. It seems to be working now after I followed their advice, but will monitor. I think our computers are already sentient and do these little things to screw with our minds. :lol2:
