The 1978 conspiracy thriller Capricorn One about a fake landing on Mars is to be remade:
John Moore Lands On ‘Capricorn One’ | The Irish Film & Television Network
"Irish director John Moore (Behind Enemy Lines, The Omen) is attached to direct a remake of the 1978 conspiracy thriller ‘Capricorn One’ for New Regency, from a screenplay written by Peter Buchman (Guerrilla, The Argentine).
The film is a reworking of the original pic which follows a group of NASA astronauts who are forced to film a hoax mars landing after they discover their ship has a major technical fault. The first ‘Capricorn One’ was written and directed by Peter Hyams, and starred Elliot Gould and James Brolin.
This will be Moore’s second remake, having previously directed a newer version of 1976 horror movie classic ‘The Omen’. John Davis (Alien vs Predator, Norbit) is set to produce."
