I have just found out that a couple of hours ago a building in Oslo Central, Norway's capital city, has been bombed!
Several people has been injured and a few has been confirmed dead. There has even been some shooting at Utøya (also a part of Oslo)!

Some says the devastation of the bomb looks like the devastation after the Oklahoma bomb. It's believed to be a car-bomb.

Avinor, a Norwegian air-company, is thinking about closing the airspace. And people are advised to stay out of Oslo Central.

The police is cautious to say this is an act of terrorism, but there is a chance it is.

I have just checked with my mom to see if she could get a hold on my brother, due to that he was in Oslo yesterday and I believed he was still there. My mom confirmed my brother is safe as she got a hold on him, and he has said that he weren't in Oslo at that time.

BBC reports one person is dead and many are injured. The damage isn't as bad as it was in OKC but that doesn't take away the shock. So far no group or person has claimed responsibility.

Link to BBC photos of Oslo damage --hopefully an acceptable link in the circumstances:

It says it was close to the PM's office. I wonder if they intended him as a casualty or if that was just a coincidence.

BQ, I'm really glad to hear that your brother is okay. If he isn't already, I hope he gets home safe and sound.

It has now been confirmed that at least 7 people are dead after the bombings, not sure what the last death toll will be.

And the one that were shooting several teenagers at Utøya (this happened right after the bombings and is related), were wearing a fake police uniform.
Unknown how many are dead there.

The PM's office is on the top of the building that was bombed (several other buildings are damaged due to the blast as well), so he may have been intended as a causality. He though weren't there at that time.

And about my brother; Thanks, and yes, I too hope he gets home safe and sound.

The news agencies in Germany seem to commonly accept the PM as intended target, they say that he was supposed to hold a speech at the place where the shooting happened, but it was cancelled shortly before.

It's incredible that people can do something like that. My thoughts are with the people who have lost one of their family members. :(

Sorry to hear about this. I hope everyone here (as well are their families) from Norway are safe.

For the record, it is an act of Terrorism, just whether it was from within or from outside. Even the OKC Bombing was an act of terrorism. I hope they catch whoever did this and punish them with extreme prejudice. :x

85 people has been confirmed killed in the shootings now.

The police have arrested one person they mean is the perp. in this, and they say there is nothing that shows that there are more people guilty in this, but the investigation is still going on.

The person they arrested, is a Norwegian 32 year old man.

This is disturbing.

Not only building a car bomb, apparently, which devastates a whole building and killing 72 people with an automatic weapon, but alone...
This shows how extremly dangerous "one man cells" can be. The Police had no clue something big was coming and had no time to prevent it.

The guy admitted that he did it. According to the BBC he is a right-wing extremist. The judge acknowledged 8 weeks of investigative custody today.

It is fascinating that the police forces found him so quickly. Within a day or two they found out who it was and captured him. That is serious good work.

My condolences to the injured and their families as well as to the families and friends of those who had been killed.
