• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Hello, MSFCians!

And welcome to the second round of the B5 polls! This time, we're asking you for your opinion on the Epic Old Races, the Vorlons and Shadows. (First Ones excluded, as we know virtually nothing of them.) Both races were pretty epic.

Who do you prefer? The Vorlons, with their mysterious encounter suits and awesome Kosh quotes? Or the Shadows, with their creepy ships, chaos philosophy and - last but not least - their agent Mr Morden?

It's your choice. Order or Chaos.

That's it for now, see you in two weeks.

The MSFC Polling Crew

P.S.: I request a Morden smiley. :p

Most of you would have probably expected this... I went with the Shadows. Com'on, what did you expect? ;) I mean, why vote for the lesser evil?

You play games like A2 where the point is blowing stuff up; what do you think it says?:p

I voted for the Shadows. Ironically, we actually seem to find out more about the Shadow philosophy than Vorlon philosophy.

That and the Vorlons kind of seemed like jerks after they sent Jack the Ripper to Delenn.

Spoilered, for the few people who haven't seen the show yet.

Actually, I really love how enigmatic they are. You don't really learn anything about them until Ulkesh's death and before they leave the Galaxy. The whole "Inquisitor" thing should have indicated that they aren't the good guys, but from there we still have... what is it, two full seasons? We should have seen it coming. I, for one, didn't. (Well, partially. Kosh was awesome, which persuaded me that they were the good guys... fanatics, maybe, but good guys.)

Of course, the Shadows had to be the stereotypical bad guy. But at the end, they didn't seem worse than the Vorlons, those manipulative *(random number of stars)*. Puppet masters, both of them. The fact that the Shadows had awesome ships and were what one would describe as Card Carrying Villain, makes them ultra-cool, though.

Also, Mr Morden. :lol2:

Indeed, they were both good in their own ways. I must say with the exception of the Drakh, all the races in B5 were good in their own way and point of view. It was so much like real life, were your point of view or walking in their shoes does show that they weren't just evil, but doing what they thought were right for their own species and world. No other Sci-Fi series have captured that as brilliantly as B5. :)

I picked the Vorlons because, on the one hand, Mrs. Sheridan, but on the other hand, Lyta Alexander. The Vorlons know how to treat a lady.

I voted Vorlon too - come on! A race so awesome that they need to wear encounter suits so that the other races they meet don't spontaneously combust by looking at their true form...

Ok - granted what I just said there is not strictly speaking true... But then again when is anything I ever say strictly true...

Gee - Mulder and Skully were right - trust NO ONE!
