• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Beaconsfield Mine Collapse

Has anybody else been following this case? If not, in Tasmania (in Australia) a mine collapsed and two men have been stuck in there for 10 days now. One man died, and they were able to get his body out because he was close to the top, but the other two blokes are were in a cage almost 1km under the ground. Anyway, they thought they would have them out today, but because of the hardness of the rock, they probably won't. It could be tomorrow or even Tuesday before they make it to the top again.

No wonder miners here are paid so well, because of the risk of collapse. I don't think I would be able to it as a job!

It reminds me of another mine accident near where I live, where a man's tractor rolled in a mine and landed on his arm. He had to amputate his own arm in order to survive, because if he didn't he would have bled to death. Makes me shudder when I think of it!

The men finally got out at about 4:50am this morning after 13 days underground. Apparently they are doing really well, and won't be hospital for that long! YAY! :D

I am just glad to hear that the miners got out after being stuck there for so long. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the one that lost his life in it.
