• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

From Memory Alpha:

The body of Andrew Koenig was found February 25, 2010, in the Stanley Park area of Vancouver, British Columbia. He is believed to have committed suicide. Koenig was the son of Star Trek performers Walter Koenig and Judy Levitt and had himself appeared as Tumak in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Sanctuary". He was 41 years old.

Such a sad ending to his going missing on Valentines Day, my thoughts are with his family and friends during this tragic time.

I got an email about him going missing a couple of weeks ago from the Of Gods and Men site. It's really sad that this is how it turned out. I hope this family is doing okay under this stressful and terrible loss.

My thoughts go out to his parents.

My sincere condolence to Mr. and Mrs. Keonig.

Through my job I have first hand experience with people who lost relative due to several horrible reasons, including suicide. It is psychologic trauma of the worst kind.
I hope they can find a way in living with it.

It is even more tragic, as quick and effective help for people with depressions is available 24/7 in most western nations.
Again, my deepest and most sincere condolences.

Walter Koenig has given us all much more than just Pavel Chekov. He was also a main character on Babylon 5, IIRC. Further, I think he wrote and directed a few episodes of the same series. I think Koenig also wrote some stories for the Star Trek comic book published by Dark Horse Comics. He has made numerous appearances at science fiction conventions where he is always gracious and kind to fans no matter what the circumstances. I had the good fortune to meet him for about five minutes in a elevator at one of the casinos here in Biloxi once. He really is what my Dad used to call 'Good People'. I am deeply sorry for his tragic loss. No parent should ever have to bury their own child. My sincerest condolences on this terrible incident.
